Brush: Shea Moisture Shave Synthetic
Soap: Maggard Razors Lime & Bergamot
Razor: PAL Adjustable Injector
Blade: Kmart Injector – Platinum Chrome
Splash:  Wal-Mart Witch Hazel 86%
Post:  Dove Men+Care ASB
After:  Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue

Another first!  Finally got around to breaking out the PAL!  Well actually, a Facebook friend sent me a Schick injector to try, with a single blade.  it was a tough choice but after some deliberation I elected to use that blade in the PAL instead. ...

I'm pretty sure the Futur just became my weapon of choice. It left the back of my head smoother than the Fatboy did. Though I did have time to go through my full routine today.

I have to rescind any previous endorsement I may have made for 7 O'clock shadow, today it gave me a terrible shave. Good thing I have more feather blades on the way and a stockpile of other blades.

Hi Nate:  So... apparently you had some good shaves with the 7 oclock blades.  Sometimes.... there will be a "dud" blade in a tuck of blades.  I suspect that you had a "dud".  Also... can you clarify which Gillette 7 o clock blade you used?  Was it the 7 o clock Blacks, Yellows, Blues, Greens?

It was a 7 O'clock green, last one from a sample pack. It was clearly a dud so I put it in the coffin of dead soldiers (an empty eclipse gum container).

I feel your pain.  Even if the blade has a good track record with you, when you get a dud, you're sometimes gun-shy (blade-shy?).

Razor:     Gillette Red Tip
Blade:     Voskhod
Brush:     Simply Beautiful Basic Badger
Cream:    The Real Shaving Company Shave Cream
After:       Maca Root Razor Relief
                Pinaud Clubman Aftershave

This was my first shave with the Gillette Red Tip. I got one little gash on the top of my head. I couldn't figure out at first why the shave was starting to deteriorate. Then I got the cut and realized that the butterfly mechanism had opened a bit. Once I tightened it up, it was smooth sailing.

It was, in the end, a very nice, close shave. I usually shave at night, so I sleep through my most smooth hours. Recently I read Razor's comment about feeling smooth for most of the day and so I am hoping to get that experience, but I doubt I will. That sandpaper-y feeling almost starts for me the minute I leave the bathroom! We shall see ...

@Mike:  Nice SOTD pic you got.  That Red Tip looks like it's in minty condition.  Glad you had a great shave.

Mel, I cleaned up the Red Tip this morning, but it really was in great condition to begin with.

I shaved with my EJ today and started with a Derby which was on its 2nd shave. Didn't cut very good after a couple of attempts so put a 'feather' in!!!!!!

Much better! Cut quite good. No cuts or irritation. This is my 2nd outing with a feather as i first tried one when i started DE shaving and got cuts and loads of irritation. Learned a lot since then!

So, will try 2nd shave with the Feather on monday.

Surprised the Derby was poor on shave no:2 as i though it would have lasted longer than that.
