FCB2001, why don't you use the Feather on your face?  You use this wonderful razor, soap, brush on your head, and then a sensor and Barbersol on your poor face....  :'(

@fcb2001:  I gotta agree with Bluebriz.  U use excellent products for your dome.  U should treat your face with the same great products also. O0

I had another relaxing evening shave.

Face shave (sink)

Razor:  Merkur Futur  (razor on right)
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: Semogue 620
Soap: Palmolive Shave Stick

Dome shave (shower)

Razor:  Weber DLC (razor on left)
Blade:  Super Max platinum
Brush:  Semogue 620
Soap:  Palmolive Shave Stick.

This is my very 1st time using the Merkur Futur.  I am lucky to participate in a special Futur Tour in an another forum.  It will be with me for the next two weeks.
My first impressions with this razor was the futuristic looks and the heaviness of the DE razor.  It is an adjustable razor that you can dial from one to six.  With one being least & six being most aggressive.  I set it at a #3.  This is a very aggressive razor with a lot of serious bite.  It mowed my thick two day growth with ease and left my face BBS .  I can tell that I am gonna have fun with this razor.

The Palmolive Shave Stick that I used lathered thick and provided good cushion.  I have used this one time and decided to revisit it.  Glad I did because I enjoyed its lather and scent.  The scent reminds you of Irish Spring.  You can purchase this shave stick at Amazon. I highly recommend it.

Ended this relaxing evening shave with an ice cube rub and a splash of Osage Rub.  Life is good.8)

Another great shave for me this evening using the Personna Platinum and my usual "tools".

One change.... courtesy of our own Rob6.... I used Gabrel's Lilac Vegetal after shave. Not a fan of the scent in the bottle but MAN is it awesome once put on!! My wife absolutely loves it... avery crisp, clean scent.

Thanks Rob!!! YOU ROCK!!

On the label I attached I think might have spelled the brand wrong. It is Gabel's. Enjoy it!

Last Night (head shave)
Tweezerman brush
Proraso cream
Edwin Jagger DE87bl razor
Derby Extra blade
Bump patrol

This morning: (face shave)
Tweezerman brush
Proraso cream
Edwin Jagger DE87bl razor
Derby Extra blade
Clubman aftershave

Really liking the DE on the ol' scalp.  I am getting the hang of the angle, just worried about the back of my head.  There's something about not being able to see the angle of the razor and blade that is just a little dis-concerting.

Hello there lovers of DE shaving...

Head (at sink)

Razor : HeadBlade
Blade : Gillete Contour plus (yellow adaptor)
Soap  : Supermax shaving cream
Brush : Tweezerman
A/S    : Bump patrol

Face (at sink)

Razor : Gillette SS Flare Tip Double Edge
Blade : Supermax Super Platinum
Soap  : Supermax shaving cream
Brush : Tweezerman
A/S     : Bump patrol

Comments;

The Bump patrol finishes my shave off so well.  I am liking this juice more and more. There is a slight vinegar smell afterwards, but it quickly dissipates.

Nice entries of your SOTD my fellow chrome domes.

@Bluebriz:  Brian... I love the pic!  Nice pic of the straight and the lather!

I will be posting later tonight after my relaxing evening DE shave.  I cannot wait.  I am looking forward to more of everyone's SOTD entries.

I actually had a Presentation at work today so I opted for a (VERY) early morning shave using my old M5 razor. The results of this shave absolutely confirmed that a shave with my DE is WAAAYYYY better than with the cartridge type razor. Not even close!

Hi Mike:  I did that before but with the Fusion.  All I gotta say is that once U become comfortable with safety razors (DE, SE, or straight razors)... those cartridges do not compete with the traditional way of shaving.  As most of you all know... I was one of the biggest fans of the Fusion but since I have discovered the traditional way... it has become the only way 4 me. O0
