Tonight's shave:

Head (in the shower):

Razor: HeadBlade
Shave Soap : HeadSlick
Brush : Wally World Special

Face (at the sink):

Razor:  Edwin Jagger DE89L
Blade:  Gillette 7 O'Clock
Shave soap:  RazoRock XXX
Brush:  Vulfix 1001
Post Shave : Brut After Shave Balm (Head & face)

Another outstanding shave with the Gillette blade. I'm loving the DE shaving experience! I'll be purchasing some additional shave soaps in the next couple of days.

I have an iPhone and I use tapatalk app, it's so simple to upload!

Mark, how do you add pics using Tapatalk?  Is it easy and does it automatically make them the right size for this site?

This morning's shave

Head (at sink)

Razor : SABI Double Edge (A big thank you to Warhawk)
Blade : Astra SP (indeed a fantastic razor blade)
Soap  : Supermax shaving cream (the non-menthol one)
Brush : Tweezerman
A/S     : Brut Spirit

Face (at sink)

Razor : SABI Double Edge
Blade : Astra SP
Soap  : Supermax shaving cream
Brush : Tweezerman
A/S     : None

The SABI is a fantastic, chunky, quality DE and a massive step up compared to my “Lion” brand.  It gave me an incredibly close, nick free shave with the Astra SP blades this morning.  Warhawk, you are a star and I am eternally grateful to you for helping me take my DE shaving experience to a different level.

BlueBriz, I agree, "All those years of sub par shaves", you hit the nail on the head.  I wish all "modern" cartridge / "canned goo" men knew wat they are missing.

Just a question.  How do you use the shaving stick in combination with the brush and bowl.  I have just posted a "Shaving mug" post.  So I am very curious.  I am guessing to scrape off a few shavings from the stick into the bowl and then rub it into a lather with the brush?

Hey Waine,
I don't use the bowl with the stick.  Instead i just have a wet face, fresh from the shower, and rub the stick over it.  I then rub the damp brush (i soak it while i'm showering, and shake off the excess water) over my soapy face and the lather explodes! I dip the tips of the brush into water if required.

@ Waine:  U welcome my friend.  Glad that U are enjoying your DE journey.  I know I am.

@Bluebriz:  Brian... that is a great pic of the CC (Cobra Classic).  I never get tired of seeing the CC pics.

@BBCMark:  Mark... good tips on the Tapatalk.

Thanks Bluebriz, thats what I thought. I do the same with my “Williams” shaving stick.

My Super, most excellent shave at 05:45 this morning was;

Head (at sink)

Razor : SABI Double Edge
Blade : Astra SP
Soap  : Supermax shaving cream
Brush : Tweezerman
A/S    : Old Spice Original

Face (at sink)

Razor : SABI Double Edge
Blade : Astra SP
Soap  : Supermax shaving cream
Brush : Tweezerman
A/S    : None, a little face cream for today.

Comments;

The SABI gives my head an excellent shave.  The weight of the razor allows me to glide it across the dome ATG effortlessly, without having to apply any pressure.  The SABI Head is nice and big, it bites into the hair perfectly with the correct angle, So with each stroke I get a nice thick pass.  I am wondering if it is the Astra SP blade that is doing such a good job.  I will let you know how some other blades in my ammo box go…

Last night's shave:

Head (in the shower):

Razor: HeadBlade
Shave Soap : HeadSlick
Brush : Wally World Special

Face (at the sink):

Razor:  Edwin Jagger DE89L
Blade:  Gillette 7 O'Clock
Shave soap:  RazoRock XXX
Brush:  Vulfix 1001
Post Shave : Nivea Extreme Post Shave Balm (Almost no scent) (Head & face)
After Shave: Clubman Vegetal (Courtesy of our own Rob6.... thanks Rob!)

Comments on the Vegetal: I've read about this stuff all over the internet. Seems to me that guys either love it or hate... not much in between.I'll have to use it a few times to decide. I wasn't a big fan of the scent when I opened the bottle. Even after a put it on I wasn't sure........ but the wife and my daughter loved it.
We'll see.
