Title: Should I go for it ?
Post by: zangetsuu on July 21, 2014, 07:18:18 PM
Hey guys !
I'll be going straight to the point !
I'm a 26 years old doctor, and I'm seriously considering getting a new style, and I've always liked the bald type !
But I never had the guts to do it.
I did it once when I was really young but I remember wearing a hat all the time because I was ashamed of it.
Now I'm considering shaving all my hair.
So I wanted to ask you for advice, do you think that it would suit me?
Here are some photos of me

Welcome to the discussion board, "zangetsuu"--

I don't usually say this, but your hair looks full and healthy, and the color compliments your face.  So, no, I wouldn't recommend shaving it.  If you want to try it, go ahead--as they say, you can always grow it back.  It might be a refreshing change for the summer.

Some people think of a shaved head only as an alternative to MPB. However, it has become a "hairstyle in its own right".  Go for it. you'll never know until you try it for  while.

Hey, if you want to shave it, then I say go ahead and do it.

You would not be the first man with a full head of hair who decided to be bald by choice.

I'm bald by choice. I like the style.  Go for it.

I went gradually shorter and shorter so it was not a shock to anyone when I actually behaved my head. Go for it.

You'll likely look pale on top for the first few weeks due to lack of sun exposure on top.  This will fade into tan as you get some sun.  That's slower in winter, so do it now.

Do it with confidence. Don't wear a hat except for sun protection during long periods of sun exposure. Mowing grass, ball game, boating, etc. Do use sun screen.

The feel of a daily shaved head is fantastic.

A bald doctor is +++. You can relate to guys struggling with MPB.  Let them know by your example that it's OK.

I shaved my full head of hair almost six months ago.  If you've got the urge to shave, go ahead and try it.  It looks like you've got a good-shaped head, so you'll probably look good bald.  If not, you'll be back to hair in no time.  But you should give the new look at least 30 days, to see whether you really like it or not.

Shavng yor head is not perrmanent its just a very short hair cut. Hair grows back fast if you dont like it nothing to lose but some hair. Not that big of a decision. you look fine as is.

Absolutely.  With your face and nice clear skin you will look great.  And, I think that it will be better for you professionally as well.

I know that for me, I want my doctor to look clean and hygenic.  All of those curls may be a bit off-putting to some of your patients.

I too am a professional and a shaved head really suits the professional look.

Just commit to the 30 day rule and you will be very happy with your decision.

Why not?  It's just another haircut and you can always grow it back if you don't like it.
