Just trying to get a rough idea of how many are planning on attending. again, it is the last weekend in july, 09. south louisiana. i am working on details for what we are gonna be doing. so the more people we get, the more fun we can have. we should have live bands both nights and we are talking about a few other things as well. pm me with any questions. thanks guys. It's looking more and more that I prolly won't be doing Rocklahoma so that increases my chances of seeing you freaks.
My L.G. mates want me to fly to and from L.A. next month to rehearse....then fly to Dallas and rehearse several days before the gig. Not only is that expensive, but time consuming.
All I gotta do with you goons is SHOW UP!! O0

I voted possibly but my real response would be "likely". The Mrs. will be coming with me so we need to make arrangements for the kids to stay with Grandparents etc.

I guess you can count me in. Im not sure if Kris will be coming with me or not. It is possible that I will be driving down with Tom and Ghost. Sean from up in Chicago area has mentioned the possibility that he may go, so I dunno, but we need to get things confirmed ASAP! By the way, who ever decides to drive amongst Tom and Ghost, we wont have to worry about a parking space. I have my portable parking curb to bring along....

I'm going to be there this year, I missed it last year, and as Tim pointed out, I will pick him up along the way. My route will take me down I-69 out of Port Huron Mi, to the loop in Indiana, then south on I-65. The more the marrier!!!

I want to be there, at least for part of it, but there is a convention that week and I might have to go. We'll see how things develop. I'm still not old enough to put pleasure before duty.

I am a strong maybe! I'd like to meet you guys, but I'd want to fit it into a longer vacation trip and need to see if that is possible workwise. The work schedule isn't totally clear as yet for that time of the year.

Hey Guys, just got back with the group and was real damn excited to read that the Convention is coming here to South Louisiana (Houma) the last of July! New Orleans is just an hour away, so you can count on me being there. And if there is anything that I can do to help with the convention, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask.
New Orleans Armstrong International Airport is your best choice if you're flying. Amtrak has several lines coming into the City as well.
If any of you are interested in spending an extra night or two in the Big Easy before or after the convention, you can get some amazingly cheap hotel/inn/guest house rates in July and August (slowest part of the year for tourists). I'll be happy to offer any suggestions on accommodations, restaurants, etc. if anyone is interested. Leave me a private message here or email me at "bigbaldie@gmail.com" and I'll do my best to help out.

I would love to be able to go. Finances are very tight. So anything outside of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia is out of the question. But I would love to see if there could be a Northwest Sly Bald Mini Con for 2009. Bald Rob and I had a nice time getting together. But it would be great to meet some of the local guys. Trevor, we still need to meet up dude!

Cajun's won't touch you but there are people around here who would cook you up like they do at the Roadkill Cafe--w/ fried green tomatoes on the side particularly if there aren't enough dead dogs or armadillos that day! They don't call armadillos Texas Turkeys for nothing.

Alright, so as I said in checking in, I'm back and I'll be booking the time off as soon as I get in to work again Thursday night.
I'm all for driving down if anyone else is up for it, although keep in mind I'm up here in Canada near Detroit. I don't know about using my truck though. The guys who came last year remember my old truck but that's gone, and the 4.9L F-150 wouldn't be all that smart of a choice for carpooling.
Anyway, I'm a definite in for this though, and I'd even be up for an extra day or two to do some touring down there cause I've never been.

Well, I'm all for driving down and even taking the truck if someone wants to chip in for the ride with gas. It's an older L6 with dual tanks, holds 140 liters and right now gas is at 0.839 per liter so it's costing about $120 to fill but it's definitely worth it. I'll be there either way and most likely driving so it's just if someone wants a ride down too.

She doesn't travel well anyway. About two hours in a car is all she can take.

update on the convention!! we are having it at the sports bar in morgan city. this place is laid back. kinda like nutties (for those of you that attended last year). i am not positive yet but i think we will have a dj/karaoke on friday night. the dj is a close friend of mine. this dude is a riot. a great time is guaranteed with him. so you should all make plans to get yer asses to louisiana in july. if you have any questions you can send me a pm.

We are actually thinking of going to a real city next year... two small towns in a row, so it is time to venture up to the big leagues! We'll start tossing ideas around in the fall about which city, but I'm thinking Vegas baby!!

Vegas would be great. For anyone who lives near a city served by Allegiant Air, they have unbelievably cheap fares to Vegas. No frills, but what the hell - there's plenty of frills once you get to Sin City.
