Title: Head shape and wearing eyeglasses
Post by: Buzzcutman on May 23, 2014, 10:20:43 AM
Hi I think head shape plays a big part of having  a shaved head or very short hair sometimes it can look bad , just wondering what you guy think. Also Sometime having short hair or no hair and wearing glasses everyday can be a bad look depending on other factors. I think having angular features helps alot if you have them (i don't )

what do you guys think

Sometimes faces topped with full heads of hair don't look great with glasses either. That is one reason there are so many styles and shapes of frames to work with different tastes, shapes and features. Hair is just one factor in the equation. On some guys, the glasses really compliment the smooth look.

Depends on the person and the glasses. I noticed a lot of sly guys wearing black rimmed glasses. I think I look much better without glasses, whether bald or with hair. But there is something to be said about being able to see! Of course, the best look is shaved head and cool sunglasses.

I wear cool glasses after they have been in the refrigerator for a few hours!

I say you do Goatee! I bet they feel good when you put them on.  I agree with you reddog that the best look is a shaved head and awesome sunglasses.

I wear glasses all the time, and I recently took the plunge to a shaved head. Here's a pic if you're interested in seeing how it looks:

I don't know about anyone else, but I think I look better with glasses than without, regardless of the hair. Then again, I've been wearing them for so long I might have just gotten used to it. (I'm thinking about changing the frames, though, since I don't like these all that much.)

Reddog, you do look good with those glasses. I prefer myself without glasses, too, and wear contacts, but glasses are more comfortable for me. I go back and forth. It's nice to have options. I don't think sly has anything to do with looking good or not. It all has to do with picking the right frames for your face.

I have a round face and a short thick neck, so a shaved head, which I refuse to give up, makes my face look VERY round. I balance it out with glasses that have hard corners, adding some angles to the mix.  I look better with glasses because I have very light eyebrows, and because without something dark up toward my forehead, the tattoos, being on the bottom half of my face, look very heavy.

Ive never really thought about if I look better with or without glasses (while going sly).   I normally only wear contacts when I'm going somewhere that I know I will want to wear sunglasses.

I think that glasses can look great on sly guys.  Especially if they have dark rims.  They bring in a color/contrast where otherwise there would be none.  They look especially good if they are the same color as the guys's beard or eyebrow hair.

I'm partial to the rimless glasses.  Wider field of vision, very light (weight)  and they just look cool.  Have a new pair coming next week.

I personally think glasses are ok, but if you are light skinned black ones are my preference.

Bald and glasses are the way to go.

I wear a pair of black frame Oakley Flak Jackets (square semi-rimless) with Transition Lenses.  They're way more comfortable than "normal" eyeglasses.  I've found a lot of younger men really like the way they look on me, and the older men that I work with don't really care one way or the other, because they understand comfort and the need to be able to see.  I'll look for a pic when I get home.

Looks good.  I almost bought those same frames, but went with these Ray Bans instead.... Kind of wishing I would have went with the Oakleys.

I usually use contact lens and some time ago I thought that eyeglasses didnĀ“t suit me with ultrashort haircuts (or bald), but now i like it a lot.

I have a couple of pairs and tend to go with thicker rimmed glasses.  I don't wear them often since I ride a motorcycle every day though.  The thicker frame I think balances the look of my face.  Tortoise Oliver Peoples on the left and Black Persols on the right.

Sunglasses I think definitely look good with a bald head.  Obviously like with eyeglasses, the frame should suit the face shape.

I wear squarish glasses with dark frames, my work ones are less bold steel framed with impact resistant lenses (I'm a mechanic), my casual wear ones are a bit more bold plastic frames. I don't think they go so well without facial hair, and have never tried contacts cos in the work environments I've been in wouldn't be so good, and plus my prescription can't work with contacts
