My wife would definitely protest.....but I've thought of just giving it a go....
don't have much there anyhow.
-
One word "Powder" :o
-
They're thinning out fast enough as it is without shaving 'em!
-
Oh, no... didn't you catch the banter a while ago between me and RazorX...he lost his about 1/2 day into it....
Dude, once you have it in your head, those types of things gnaw at you...ask Medic too! Both razorX and medic looked cool bald and browless...and I bowed down to both of them for having the b*lls to go through with it..
but like you they had light brows so it wasn't a huge difference!
Heck, I just went "Mr. Clean" with no facial hair, THAT is a big difference...but would I consider ever going a "true" all out Mr. Clean and shave off the brows...I would love to do it at least once, just to see the end result... for kicks....
but I'm ALL eyebrow and it wouldn't be pretty...I say if your light browed or have almost no brows...go for it! Cold Stone Steve Austin doesn't have them or they are really light and he looks WAY cool, extra bald and extra SLY!
I say if you're really considering, GO FOR IT...they'll grow back and we only go around once in life and it's a short one at that!
Let us know if you like having bald brows ROB..... it's in your head, it'll happen sooner or later!
Later my bald brutha!

Andre,
Some things are just better left undone.
Like you said, you just went Mr. Clean with no facial hair.
I'm ALL brow too and to me going browless,
.... is just kinda freaky!!
I don't see myself going there, ever!!

I find it fascinating that shaving the eyebrows is such a taboo to so many people. There are far worse things that one could shave. >:D
-
i thinking about doing it. Thought it would be cool like that WWE wrestler Kane he looks cracked out though i think it could work for me
-
I shaved my eyebrows just a few minutes ago as shown in the new avatar. A strange sensation, just like shaving the head for the first few times. O0

Looks good on you Medic, but I don't believe I could pull it off...or pluck them out...or shave them off...
-
Medic, you never fail to amaze me!
-
Medic it looks nice, i'm thinking a long time to shave them also, but i'm scary to do it

Then, let's do it simultaneously ... august 1 ? You know i am wanting to this one time, just to experience how it feels...

It must be a strange feeling, and i'm scary

Thanks for all the compliments fellows! My suggestion is that if you want to shave them off, lighten them up with hydrogen peroxide about a month before you do it. Mine were totally blond, and were hardly visible before I shaved. I'll run my little experiment again, and see who notices and who doesn't, or who has the nads to say anything.
-
Looks good...
All you need to do now is shave the chin & cut those eye lashes off.. :o
My eyebrows are way too bushy to shave off

Looks good Medic. My eyebrows came off today as well!

Way to go Tim! :D I think I like it better this time, as opposed to when I shaved them off last summer.

Looks very cool and natural on you

Hee Hee such as? Not only do I shave my head, and today my eye brows, but every thing below the neck as well

How does that feel? As good as shaving the head?

How does that feel? As good as shaving the head?
Not sure what you are asking, but it my case all shaving feels good. I have been shaving my body for 20+ years and my head nearly 4 years and it all feels good
-
I have trimmed them before. But I don't think it would look to good on me.
-

I am sure it would look great on you. You are a handsome guy

Medic is my hero!
Dude...you do rock the bald brows real well...hope you're gonna enjoy being bald and browless for a longer time this trip around....you do look WAY bald!
Wish i could do it one day...just for the experience! for now, i'll live through you browless, bold guys!Going the route of Mr. Clean has been a good "balder" experience for me for now!
P.S.Opps, Tim too...dude you did it! Looks like you need to even up the brow area (tanning wise, just a little)....man, looks a lot more bald than before for you! O0

There's a question I've been wanting to ask you for quite a time now, so I'll just ask (hope i't's not too personal). Since I've seen your postings on both this board and the headshave.org-forum and you are (while you probably don't know) one of my examples with all this shaving stuff: I wonder why you shave everything but the moustache and goatee, I've been wondering why...? You seem like a person who wants to be bald totally, so my question is, why don't you shave them ? I'd really like to know (and so I hope you will answer my question)
-

I've wondered why too....being a self proclaimed total body shaver....you never have wanted to, at least once? I know you've said it takes a long time to grow the goat back...but HOW long really?
For a dude being into it, i would think you would do it at least one time... like we all know ,hair does grows back! This isn't a push, just thought you would be doing the "Full Mr. Clean" thing once in your life...
... again this is not a push, just an observation...

Thanks Techno. No I didn't know, but I am flattered to be considered a role model or inspiration for shaving your head. To answer your question shave has always been a sexual fetish for me. I have been shaving my body off and on since there was anything to shave. 20 years ago I stated shaving every day. 4 years ago I finally gave into a very powerful urge to shave my head after having shorter and higher and tighter flat tops for 10 years. Now having said that I also fine facial hair on men to be a turn on as well. Plus I think I look handsomer with the stache which Ihave had since 1975. The goat only dates back to the first head shave. Therefor, :) while I dislike body hair and prefer to be bald by choice, I also like the face fuzz

Andre, hopfully my reply to Techo answers your question. I whent clead shaven though not a shaved head for 2 years but I was not happy with the look so I grew the stache back and the goat much later. I just feel better with it. I have thought of losing the goat cause it isn't too busy anyway but the stache will stay most likely. Never say never but not right now.
-
nope.
-
no here also.
All I think about with shaved eyebrows is the scene of Bob Geldof shaving his in the movie "Pink Floyd's, The Wall" with the blood dropping in the sink. Besides the heebie-jeebie factor of that scene, I don't think shaving my eyebrows would add (or detract) from my already Ordinary American look.

Schro, Thanks for reminding me of that scene from 'The Wall.' Now I probably won't be able to sleep. The heebie-jeebies is a good way to describe it. I fall into that light-colored brows category where no one would probably notice if they weren't there. I do trim mine, but I won't be shaving them. My wife would probably think I've turned into a freak.
-
Well then ....Get your Freak On, Stewie.
-
by the way, you don't suck. I just like the Stewie character and that's the only picture of him that I have.
Plus, Stewie's a SLY BALD GUY (with no eyebrows to boot).
-
fF## You crack me up, Schro. To be honest, I think I've only seen that show once, so I don't know the characters. I do admire you for your wit and creativity. Do you keep those jpeg files in your back pocket just for those special occasions?

Thanks. Most of the jpegs come from internet searches.

Thanks for answering, and of course you are right: we should all do(/shave) what we like (which for you is the "face fuzz"), and I admire anyone who doesn't let his actions be controlled by what other people might think about that (and you are (amongst other headshavers) definetely one of them).
To return to the subject: I made a deal with "straight razor" another dutch guy to shave our eyebrows simultaneously, in the begin of august...

I would never had thought Schro was a CPA. At least not the stereotypical CPA. I think RazorX is a CPA also, isn't he? He ranks right up there with Schro in my CPA book.

Hey..what the...hey?!?
Man..... just helpin' out a fellow bald brother take the bald brow plunge...then BAM!
You're the instigator!
Ok.... I can live with that...any other takers?? ;)

I've been shaving mine daily since sometime in 2001-2002(can't remember). Aside from the Mr. Clean, Uncle Fester, bullet head look that I like, I also like the fact they no longer rub my glasses with dirt and oil. I can go an enitre day without cleaning my glasses. I have no intention of growing them back either. I'm as bald as an egg.
Regards

You are right about the glasses. I hadn't paid attention except for the fact that my glasses sit better but they do stay cleaner
-
I forgot to add. We have 8 or 9 other officers in my dept that shave their heads also and I know at least one of them peels his brows also. He's into body building.
-
I can't say that I ever thought of shaving my eyebrows.
-
I can't say that I ever thought of shaving my eyebrows.
Well, now that you know that some of us do are you considering it? It is a rush for sure
-
I don't know about that, Tim. I do pluck them to keep them under control. I don't shape them, I just don't let them cut too bushy. I do have to shave to avoid a unibrow though.
-

Well it is of course up to you and I hope you will consider it but you seem poised and ready to do it. Honestly most people don't even notice that your brows are gone so if you want to do it don't worry and enjoy the look and feel
-
I've thought about it as mine are getting longer as I get older but they're quite bushy so I'll have to think a bit more about it. I wonder how long it takes for them to grow back after you've shaved them? & also, won't they grow back even bushier? I bet it gets as addictive as shaving yer head after a while too! Don't know that I need any more vices >:D
-
Never really thought about shaving my brows. They are light/gray, and the top of my glasses goes right over them. I might give it a try, and I doubt anyone will even notice!

If most people don't notice, why create the extra work? :/O
-
Never thought of it, dont know if I would want to- I could to see how they look, but if i hated the look of it, my eyebrows dont grow in too much, so it would take a while to grow back, well at least I think they would.

No they won't grow back busier. That is a myth about shaved hair growing back thicker. Hair on average grows 1/2" per month in my experience eyebrows grow back a bit slower than that. Addictive? yes it can be. Depends if you like it :)

Try it. As someone already said your glasses stay cleaner for one reason.
-
I did it once in H school. it just made bald freak even freakier. Been contemplating doing it again. Not sure if the wife will dig it though.
-
If you do post a b4 and after pic. I must admit I'm curious, but I would like to see the difference on someone else b4 I did something like that? Wanna be the ginea pig Bald Freak? Also, very cool new avatar. O0

What ladies would those be? The blue-haired ones who already came into your shop and gave you what-for for shaving your head??? >:D >:D

Could never shave my brows. They are the focal point of my big head.

Like yours too X, I cant find any of my old pics. I think my ex trashed them all, including my with hair pics.
-
The eyebrows are staying for me too. I think it (along with facial hair) makes your slick, sly dome stand out and adds contrast.
Besides, all I keep thinking of is Bob Geldof in that scene from Pink Floyd's "The Wall" movie.
-
I think my wife is scared to death that I will shave mine. I don't think I have the 'nads to do it, but every once in a while I remark about how you can barely see mine, and she immediately says 'don't you dare do that.' It's kind of fun to see her reaction.
-

Stew, get some fake skin putty from a halloween store(fun fx around here) put it over your brows so it looks like you did and see what her reaction is. If she doesn't neuter or divorce you then maybe you can do it for real.
-
I can't see myself shavin' the catepillars anytime soon.
-
I have shaved off my eyebrows recently and everyone I have met has said that the look is "real cool" & completes the bald style. I have been told to keep my brows smooth permanently.
I must admit the first time I had them shaved I was a bit nervous, but the feeling was incredible as they were buzzed off by the barber & he told me to shave them smooth myself at home.
If you are seriously thinking about it, it is quite a dramatic change, but one that I fully recommend.
-
I've thought about it but...I have very thin, light coloured brows. Without them I fear I might have a look of criminal cunning. Also, I still want something around that proves that not only do I have hair but that I can grow it as well.
-
I've often thought about it, but so far I havent had the balls to actually do it.
-
When deployed two years ago, the local "haji" barbers shaped my eyebrows using threads. I do get them trimmed up once in a while when visiting the barbershop (three or four times per year). But no, I've never shaved them completely off.
-
Yup - shave 'em regularly :-)
-
The only way my eyebrows will be shaved is if its done to me while i`m asleep ! :P
-
Why???
-
Does anyone else find this very odd?? :/O
-
Does anyone else find this very odd?? :/O
I'm with you on this one. Trimming is ok and sometimes necessary, but I don't think I'll ever shave mine off....I think it impacts the overall look of a person too much.
-
What are they actually for though? I assume just about everything on/in the body has a purpose but whats the purpose of eyebrows?
I think guys look good without eyebrows (generally speaking)

I've always heard that they are to keep sweat/dirt/dust from getting to your eyes. Also, I've read that they do offer a little protection from intense light sources (like how football players that put black under their eyes). Also, it helps with expressiveness in non-verbal communication.
-
nope, it just looks...
-
Don't plan to shave mine.
-
strokes and folks.
-
I agree with iRock.
-
I wouldn't shave mine off. When I run they protect my eyes from sweat!

Dare you to Google "male lactation." (Warning: may not be safe for work.)
(Er, now I think with my avatar of me and the kids I might be coming off as a total creeper. I assure you I'm not!)

Wow Noggin that is really the clean look! O0
-
So after thinking about it for a while, I finally got the nerve to shave off my brows clean. Like others have said, I'm not sure what I'm doing with them long term, but I am enjoying the look for now. Plus like others have also said, I feel 3X as Bald. Kinda like once you get the idea to shave your head, the urge doesn't go away till the deed is done
-
I finally got the nerve to shave off my brows clean.
That takes courage.
I enjoy keeping a shaved head, but that as far as I'm going.
-
No because it makes a person look strange to say the least.
-
I definitely do NOT intend to split hairs with my eyebrows. My hair is dark and I do shape my eyebrows as most ladies do and I trim them if needed but otherwise, I like how they look and they definitely help with facial expressions and keeping soap out of my eyes!
-
I shaved my eyebrows once on a dare a couple years ago––it felt really cool, but I don't recommend it for a couple reasons.
Some people have eyebrows that, when shaved, grow back differently than they were before––or don't grow back at all. Eyebrows are very sensitive, and you need consult only the closest woman you know with any fashion sense who has done some/much plucking of eyebrows. Though not as damaging as plucking, shaving isn't good for them either.
Also, shaving eyebrows will demonstrate how invaluable they are. They really are there to keep crap out of your eyes. While nature has deemed head hair non-essential, haha, eyebrows are meant to be there, and its especially important as a bald guy to keep those eyebrows.
That said, I do trim my eyebrows––not pluck, not shave––because I think that a bald head in combination with especially fluffy eyebrows isn't a nice contrast. I just use a beard trimmer to even out my eyebrows and keep them at a uniform length.
-
Some do, most don't.

The frame of my face. Thanks haha
-
I wouldn’t shave my eyebrows. When I shave my head in the shower, I’m careful to cover my eyebrows with my free hand to prevent shaving them.
-
To each his own, but that would be a little much for me. I don't see any advantage to shaving your eyebrows, except to draw some attention. I get enough attention by being bald by choice.

I trim mine when they get bushy but mine are already grey so I leave them alone.

Being bald with a beard (and eyebrows) it's easy, remove one of those really put on test your confidence.

You look great bald and browless!
I used to shave main but now I keeep them completely waxed. I think that completes the bald look, especialy if you have bushy eyebrows.

I had to do it as part of my ordination into a Buddhist monastery in Thailand a few years back and I had to keep them shaved. I will lie it was a one thing that was freaking me out more than anything else! And it was just silly once they were gone it really wasn’t that noticeable and I really did not miss them. And when I came back home people didn’t even seem to notice it as they grew back in! At least there were no negative comments!
It’s just like everything else we are so wrapped up into our own self centeredness that we make a big deal out of nothing!
If you got the itch- then for heaven‘s shake scratch it!
