Full beard advice
« on: November 05, 2020, 06:15:20 PM »
I am growing a beard. I already have a goatee.

Should i trim my goatee right down or just let the beard grow to catch up to the goatee length etc?

Let everything grow out for a few weeks and once the sides have grown pour enough, trim everything to a uniform length.

Ok, so, dont touch the goatee. Just let the rest grow as much as possible.......

I am planning on giving it at least 3 months as my hair grows slow, even at 56!

I agree with just letting the sides grow in.  But before you trim to uniform length after the sides grow in, decide how you want to take the beard.  If you want something more than a uniform beard cut at 1/2 to 1 inch all over, you may find you prefer a slightly longer beard, and if so, most longer styles have the length longer in the goatee area than the sides.  Especially if you want a more defined chin look.

I know guys that have gone form goatee to full beard with no trimming and the shape came out nearly perfect with no trimming at all.  Of course, it all still depends on how fast your facial hair grows in the different areas.

9 weeks now i been growing out my beard.

I have faded in the side brows myself to my bald head myself though. Scary as its easy to keep cutting away!

Took a few very long stray moustache hairs off today too as they were very long compared to the other side. Rest hasnt been touched. Looks very scruffy but this, i guess, is the awkward stage.

Using beard oil in the morning and a beard balm/butter in the night and washing twice a week with beard shampoo.

Ordered beard wax so that i can train the moustache hairs and a tiny Kent beard comb!
