hey bald fellows,
it's done! I shaved my head today and it feels great, feels good when touching it and
no fear anymore about hairloss. a bald head feels good! though hardest way to go, going
to the office tomorrow, but there no way back, i guess.
i made the closed buzz i can (the first cut was like a shock), made my head wet and put a lot of shaving cream on my head and started to with a gilette fusion (5 blades) it works great.
i used an gilette after shave when it was done. and that was 2 hours ago. feel sstill good so far.
no cuts no irretations.
20 min, and all were gone. i was a bit strange to see myself int the mirror snd i'm still kinda excited about it. i'm curious how things will go on.
and for sure i know what you guys are talking about, until it was done.

Congratulations, Ben. I doubt many people at work will be able to determine what's different...probably will guess you shaved your beard and mustache and it looks more clean shaven. You plan to keep at it for at least 30 days? Once you don't get surprised when looking in the mirror, you'll never go back!

Awesome Ben, good job. You cant even tell that you have shaved, meaning yoru noggin isnt white like some of us have been. Sometimes I wish I can experience that "numb" feeling you are probably experiencing right now. Feels GREAT doesnt it. I bet right now you are saying to yourself...Why didnt I do this sooner...am I right?

hey my bald fellows, thanks ya all for your kind comments!
it's still kinda strange to see myself in that way, though it feels goods as i wrote.
i shaved it again after i opened this new topic, cause i did it with the grain the first
time. there were a lot of hard stups and i wanted to have more smooth. ok, it caused some
razor brand then, but not to bad.
and it got it absolutly smooth. feeling no hair. what a feeling !!!
but i do really look bald now, no shadow, cause of my dark blonde hair. it's like a omg feeling as
i woked up in the morning, but no work today for me, so there is still a thing a have to go through.
the first 24 hours are not over after second shave and it feels like there are some stups back again.
that's all about my first impression ;-)
hope this strange feeling to see my head in the mirror will be over soon.

You'll get used to it, but you seem to forget that you spent a lot of time looking at the "balding" going on. That's over and while "going bald" is the shits, being bald isn't bad at all it's really good, it's clean, and as your picture shows it looks great on you O:O O:O. You'll find out when you get a LOT of compliments. My "morning line" is that the compliments will outnumber any others by not less than 10 to 1, except from family. Family is a really complex reaction, lots of us still have spouses and significant others that are less than supportive to put it mildly.

Hey Ben, It will take a little while getting used to. I shaved may 5th and i am just getting comfortable with the look.
I will say with the people at work it was a non issue. I work in public safety so its not unusual to have a shaved head as alot of the guys do. Only a few family members have seen it so far, but i didnt have any bad comments only the usual why would you shave it when your not bald kind of thing. I am into boating and ride motorcycles every day so i will say that it has been great in that regard.....i was at the sand bar where everyone goes to party all day sunday and it was great taking my hat off and not having to make sure my hair looked okay. I would say just give it a little time and you will love it for sure. DDDeepdiver

Dude, doesn't that just feel GREAT! I remember my first time, I was rubbin my head so much cuz it felt so good that I almost got off on it.....Seriously, to think all you bald fuckers were holding out on us for so long, and didn't let us all know how this felt......
I wish I could consistently go against the grain. That would feel even better.

It differs for everyone, I've got thin hair and if I shave against the grain--which is every shave--after being up for an hour or more I don't get any velcro for 8 hours or so sometimes longer, 5 to 6 if I shave right after getting up. It is a really good feeling O0 O0 O0when it's freshly shaved--that I think everyone here agrees with. O:O Rubbing is a naturally Sly activity and feels really good, I don't think anyone here thinks it isn't.

The "self-rub" is a normal behaviour of us sly bros.
I shave daily about 6 am against the grain and the "velcro-feeling" starts about 2 pm.

Bald Ben to answer your question,
It stays smooth for 8-12 hours. Then it starts to feel like velcro. If I have to attend a late day meeting or if I'm going to a special place with my wife in the evening I give my head a quick shave against the grain.
Ben I do recommend aloe vera gel. It soothes and relieves razor burn.
