It takes practice for sure, but it's a great skillset to have.

@greatnessinc, I am considering a Merkur Futur, which would be used on the dome as well. Just curious what setting you have it on when you shave the dome? How does this compare to the setting for your face? Thanks.

I have mine cranked up to 6 (the highest setting). I wouldn't start at 6 while you're in the learning phase.

Razor:  iKON Slant w/ Bulldog Handle

Blade:  Treet Platinum

Cream: Truefitt & Hill West Indies Lime

Brush:  Semogue BC Texugo

Dessert:  Ice cube rub, refrigerated WH, refrigerated FINE Fresh Vetiver

Wow!!!  For anyone who has not tried a slant razor, all I gotta say it is a must try razor.  Slant razors, Webers, Cobra Classic, and vintage razors have been getting the most love in my shave den.  Happy shaves and hope you all have a great weekend.  I know I am.

@Digitaldome...Hi Paul:  I recently pulled trigger on some RazoRock XXX at the ItalianBarber.  I am awaiting for it's arrival.  How do you like the RR XXX?  Performance?  Scent?  Lather?  Glide?  Cushion?

@warhawk I have one shave under my belt with RR XXX, and it an easy soap to lather, has a great scent (SHMBO loves it), and is a slick performer.
Tomorrow, I am using the RR P.160...  I have never smelled such a sweet-smelling almond soap as the P.160
I think I will love both of these stellar croaps.

I timed myself for the first time today. I was curious to see how long it took me to get a full BBS shave, I clocked in at just under 16 minutes. Unless I have extra time I try to keep my shaves close to the 5 minute mark.

Which blade do you like the most?

Just tried Persona blue and did a nice shave. Nicked myself twice though which is forst time in ages!

Feather is my preference. I have more Astra and Dorco blades at the moment though. Next time I refill my blade supply I'm going to pick up a 100 pack of Feather blades.

I got mine from a Thai website. Far cheaper than buying them in Japan.  I'll dig out the link if you're interested?

So far my faves are the Personna Reds.. they feel just as sharp as the Feathers but a lot more forgiving!

Thanks for the report, Paul.  I look forward to the mailman delivering the RR XXX this week.  Do you think the RR P.160 smells better then Cella?

Razor:  Weber DLC w/ Graphite Black Bulldog Handle

Blade:  Feather

Soap:  RazoRock XXX

Brush:  Semogue 620

Dessert:  Ice cube rub, refrigerated WH, refrigerated FINE Fresh Vetiver

The mailman delivered my RazoRock XXX , so this afternoon I had my 1st face & dome shave with it today.  First impressions was the  invigorating, clean citrus like scent as I opened the twist to open lid.  It lathered so easily and provided a great shave. I highly recommend this product.  You won't be disappointed.
