@W:  Hi Adonis... I would not give up on the Polsilver Super Iridium, yet.  How do you like the LASS Woody Lavender?  Scent?  Performance?

WARHAWK O0

I like it.  The scent is a bit subtle but it smells good.  I picked up more of the "woody" than the lavender.  It lathered decently.  It's a croap so YMMV.

SOTD 6/7

Pre: Maggard Razors PSO - Lime
Brush: Omega 48 Pro Boar
Soap: Arko!
Razor: '69 Gillette TTO Black Handle
Blade: Personna Red (3 - last shave)
Splash: Shea Moisture Shave Tea Tree Herbal AS Elixer
Post: Nivea Sensitive ASB
After: Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS & Pacific Shaving Moisturizer

Hulk says "HULK BBS!!". Typically good shave.  The '69 TTO shaves very much like my Super Speed.  The Personna performed well but I can tell its not as sharp, so this is the last shave with that blade.  had a little trouble lathering the Arko.  And the lather I did get seemed thin and dry.  But I mostly attribute that to my lack of experience with the soap, and maybe my brush choice.  The Omega is HUGE lol  I probably should have used one of my smaller brushes.  Other than that.. great shave, no weepers!  can you tell I'm a Hulk fan?  :D

@W:  I like your SOTD pic.  That is a sweet looking Gillette Super Speed.  I got the same one except it is a 1967 and 1974.  It is a nice mild razor.  Arko is a very easy soap to lather.  It is probably the easiest.  You should get better if you are patient.

Saturday, June 7, 2014 SOTD

Razor:  Weber DLC w/ Wave Handle

Blade:  Treet Platinum

Cream:  Truefitt & Hill West Indies Lime

Brush:  Simpson Duke 3

Dessert:  Ice cube rub, refrigerated WH, refrigerated FINE fresh vetiver

This was my 1st time using the Truefitt & Hill West Indies Lime (shave cream).  I was PiF'd  a sample from a friend.  I am usually a shave soap guy except when I use Taylor of Old Bond Street (TOBS).  First impressions was the invigorating lime scent.  The T&H performed great.  A little dab went a long way.
I can see myself purchasing this shave cream.

The Arko in the video is a stick but he grated it into a bowl.  Arko in a stick or puck is the same formulation.  Good luck, my friend and keep us posted.

Hi Paul:  I like your SOTD pic.  You got great taste my friend.  I love Barrister and Mann soap.  It lathers so easy and the scents are amazing.  I wanted to love my 2011 R41 but it was way too aggressive for me.  I got some great shaves but that R41 bites like a shark especially on my dome shaves.  As much as I wanted to love it, the R41 did not like me so I sold it.  Glad that you are enjoying yours.  That is a beautiful razor paired up with the Bulldog Handle.  Is that a Weber Bulldog Handle or iKON?

@WARHAWK  It's the Weber handle.
I am told that the 2011 R41 is more aggressive than the 2013 model.
I just got this R41 head today...Had to shave with it...only a days growth but no cuts, no weepers, no irritation.  Bookoo close shave!
I ordered it from ie.shaving in Europe.  http://www.shaving.ie/products/muhle-replacement-head-r41-oc.html
It was shipped on Monday, and I got it today (Fri).  Very reasonable in price.  Total Cost $25.42 including shipping.
Mel..maybe you could give the R41 2013 edition another shot.  (Pare it with that great Wave handle)   If it still doesn't work out...you can always unload it...no problem.
All the best,
Paul

@digitaldome: Hi Paul:  Nice, I absolutely love the Weber razors and the handles.  For a stainless steel razor, it is the best bang for your buck stainless steel razor on the planet.  Wow... that is a great deal on the R41 head.  I had such a bad time with the 2011 R41 that I never considered getting another one.  I did not know you can only purchase the 2013 R41 head separately.  Thanks for letting me know.  I'll have to put that on my future list. ;D

Many thanks for sharing that link. So, the R41 head fits onto the EJ89 Handle then?
