I'm waiting for my new brush to get here. It's a Frank shaving silvertip badger brush. I snagged it on eBay for under $30 total. I had my eye on a silvertip by simply beautiful for $25 on Amazon but I missed my chance to get it.

SAFETY Razor Shave of the Day (SOTD)
« Reply #753 on: April 08, 2014, 06:08:09 AM »
Been using the Micro touch one, it has solved all of the irritation and razor burn problems I was having. I don't know why I didn't try a 1 piece DE sooner, this is so easy to clean and change the blade on. My other Razors are either 2 or 3 piece razors.
For shaving I use Taylor of Oldbond street sensitive.
I'm going to pick up a new brush when I get a chance; I've been eyeballing a silver tip badger by Simply beautiful. Presently I use a Semogue 2,000.

Whipped dog has some very nice silver tip brushes, at great prices.  Definitely worth checking out if you haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Edit: just saw you've ordered elsewhere!

About time I posted a shave of the day.

Razor:  Merkur 1904

Blade:  Merkur

Soap:  Palmolive Classic Palm Extract shave cream

Brush:  Wilkinson Sword Bristle Brush

Dessert:  Tabac Classic

Mixing things up a bit at the moment - new razor, different blades, new shaving cream and different aftershave (I always used to use Tabac when I was a teenager - the scent kind of feels like coming home).

Monday,  April  8,  2014 SOTD

Razor:  Merkur Mergress

Blade:  Polsilver Super Iridium

Soap:  TIKI Bar Soap (Sandalwood)

Brush:  Simpson Duke 3

Dessert:  Ice cube rub, refrigerated WH, refrigerated Osage Rub

Just had an incredible face & dome shave.  For any one on the fence who are thinking about the traditional way of shaving,  I hope you can experience this way of shaving.  It is truly epic and it is so relaxing.  I recently discovered another great shave soap from TIKI Bar Soap.  Amanda of TIKI Bar Soap can be found on www.etsy.com.  She makes some incredible soaps and it is made in the good ole USA.  She provides great customer service and her shave soaps are top notch.

Warhawk you mentioned that the MT One shaves similar to the Super Sport. I picked up 2 SS razors for $27 on eBay; I can report that the One is much more mild than the SS. Despite being similar in weight, the One has slightly less blade exposure. The doors on the SS razors I have are rather loose so that could be a factor.

How's that working out for you Wutwutman?
Are you fully converted over to DE shaving?

So far so good!  Having some issues with getting the angle right on the back of my head but working thru it lol

I've found that I seem to have a better angle starting at the top of my head and moving down to the neck. Back of my head does present a bit of a steeper challenge and it seems like I can't always get a perfect shave back there. I have a lot of scars back there though.
