I've fallen behind in posting here.  My routine this week has been:

Face and head at the sink...
Art of Shaving unscented pre-shave oil
Edwin Jagger Sandalwood soap - whipped to a creamy lather with an Omega brush
Merkur DE with Derby blade
Warm and cold rinses
Nivea Sensitive after-shave balm

Today I was running very late, so I used my old Fusion on my head, but the DE on my face.  Still getting a few nicks, so my technique still needs more work.

OK...... I haven't shaved my head or face since early Monday afternoon (leaving for work at 4:30 AM and getting home at 8 PM) so I have some serious growth going. I look sort of like a street corner bum but not as good looking.

So tonight I will lift my trusty EJ DE89L, new Derby blade installed, and glide it over my head and face. It should be a very satisfying shave.

My 2nd shave with the Merkur 37C slant razor was simply incredible.  It is considered an aggressive razor.  The hefty, heavy handle felt great in my hand.  I loaded it with an Astra SP  blade  and I experienced a BBS face (in sink) and dome (in shower) shave.  I used my trusty Semogue 620 brush with Mike's Natural Soap (lemongrass).

All in all... the Merkur 37C slant razor is a great DE razor.  I would recommend this razor only if you have some experience in DE shaving. I would not suggest this razor to a beginner because of its aggressiveness.

Razor: HeadBlade
Cartridge: Gillette Sensor 3
Exfoliant: HeadShed
Shave cream: HeadSlick
Post shave aftercare: Bump Patrol (as I have run out of ClearHead)

A damn good morning shave, they just keep getting better. BBS dome, feeling fresh, feel revitalised, feel good.

Last night, shower shave of both head and face.

Face razor 37C slant.  Mike's Peppermint (and something....Rosemary?) soap, Omega Boar brush, Feather blade.  Super smooth!

Head razor Wilkinson Sword Extreme III disposable razor, soap and brush as above.

Wonderful close, relaxing shave.

I'm going to gift a relative with a new DE razor...should I consider a 37C for a guy with a normal beard? The 37C with Feather blades sounds extremely aggressive to me. What's your opinion?

Two awesome shaves today:

Head (in the shower) - SH5 - C. O. Bigelow Cream - 2 passes* with a HeadShed exfoliation inbetween - cold water rise - ClearHead
*It fells pretty damn smooth after just one pass, but the second pass doesn't take too long and makes it that much more smoother. O:O

Face (at the sink) - Merkur Futur - C. O. Bigelow Cream whipped to Warhawk-esque thickness - 3 passes - Gillette A/S Lotion

I really need to get back on DE'ing my head. It just takes so long to do both surface in the morning. I may see about doing one at night. Those that have DE'd their head at night.....does it "last" long enough the next day?

On the plus side, my face DE technique has improved by leaps and bounds recently. I hope that will translate into a good experience on the dome.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

A lot of people have suggested the slant is aggressive, but I don't find it to be so at all.  That said, if you're talking about someone's first DE, I'd probably suggest an Edwin Jagger DE89 just to be safe!
