Head Shape - Why you shouldn't worry!
« on: July 25, 2012, 11:47:02 AM »
One of the big topics on this board is head shape. I have to admit I've struggled with my head shape, and I know others are concerned (especially newcomers). I have a small bump/ridge on my head that has always bugged me (so you're not alone). Here's my quick story.

I've had a shaved head for a few years. My buddy has a full head of hair. He shaved his head to a 1 the other day, and he looked really good. He had brain surgery a few years back, and you see his scar that outlines his hairline (his surgeon did his best to hide his scar with his hairline). I told him it made him look like a badass, and he should wear it proud. I also thought he had a nice shaped head.

Fast forward to last night, and the topic of having a shaved head came up. He told me, "You have a good head shape and a good look for being bald." I said, really? Thanks. I told him I thought he had a good head shape as well...and he says I don't think it's as good as yours, you have an egg shaped head (lol) and that's a good thing.

So really...it's all about perception! I think his head shape is better and he thinks mine is better. Your self consciousness about your head shape is, literally, all in your head!

That made my night...and I thought I'd share it with you all!

Wise words, Jason. Thanks for sharing your story and experiences. There has been a fair amount of this topic discussed lately... I hope others who are concerned about this will take your words to heart.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: there's no such thing as a perfect head shape/size. We would all be cookie-cutter clones (ie uninteresting/not unique).

Who really wants to look like this, anyway?

I agree, and will add that although we are all 'imperfect' I've not seen a bald head yet which I thought was unattractive or would look better covered by something.

It all works for all of us.

Thanks, Jason....I think this thread should be stickied.....something to look at whenever we get down about the shape of our heads.....for a long time, I thought I had a "boxing glove" head because my cranium stuck out a little further than others, but as I said....it's our imperfections that make our heads uniquely ours!

the headshape thingy is only in the person's mind, it's not that bad actually.

That's the spirit! You must be my hidden double, I had two surgeries on the back of my head in December and April....The scars are starting to blend in, but even if they don't I'll take scars over nasty cysts on the back of my head anytime!

True Jason, the initial head shape worry is just "all in the head".

Once you go Sly, you and others start to get used to your own Head Shape.

I wonder what is worse, having an odd head shape with a "Bozo the Clown doughnut  ring" or having an odd shaped head and being completely bald?  I say the former.

It is always great that you like the look of yourself, or your head shape. I think your head shape look good. However, if it is still bother you, there is the new technic surgery for the head shape reshaping in Korean. Check it out.
