Does anyone recall their first head-shave experience ?

My first time wasn't that long ago. *shucks* :-[ :P
Until recently I used a trimmer set to zero which took everything off bar the "shadow". It's only a few months ago that I took my sensor 3 to my head and shaved everything. It felt great but my clothes/hat stuck to my head for a couple of days afterwards. It's only since coming to SBG that I started shaving regularly.

I started out using clippers at a 0 for about 1 year. Then one day I broke out my electric razor and started to use that to shave to the skin. That lasted a couple of years. Now, I've been shaving with a razor for about 4 months.

This is actually my 3rd time shaving... don't really remember the first two because they were a long time ago!
This time however has lasted 2 1/2 years (3 years in May). I was using the clippers with no blade attachment and I decided to try shaving it clean again... liked the way it looks and I'm not looking back! O0

Mine was at the hair salon I was going to at the time. I had tried to trim my own hair and created a driveway at the top center of my head with hair on both sides.
I actually went out that night and bought clippers and shave cream, but never really could get it to work exactly how I wanted it. So I went to my salon the next afternoon and had them zero guard it. I liked it a lot and have kept it since.

The first time I shave my dome was a while ago, back in 2001. I did it cause I messed up cutting my own hair with the trimmers and kept getting "higher and tighter" with the hair cut. I walk around like a day with the no guard cut and was too annoyed by the Velcro effect, so I bic'd it.
Almost grew it out because I had too many people ask if I trying to look like Vin from Fast and Furious. :Xo!

Was packin' the trailer to move from Ft. Lauderdale to Denver back in 2003. Was so freakin' hot (as usual down there)...plus I was huffin furniture and stacks of boxes.
Needed any relief I could muster...so I grabbed the Wahl clippers and took it down to #2. With the ease of maintenance and convenience that fostered...I was curious about bic'n it for the next 3 years.
Finally slicked it just shy of two weeks ago......and lovin' it. :@`

My first time :-[ was back in '98. A buddy of mine who had been on the school swim team throughout high school helped me out. It started out with three of us at his house with the Wahl clippers, shaving different designs in each other's hair. Then we proceeded to use an entire bag of BIC disposable razors to get our three noggins completely slick. Kept shaving it for about a month or so then let it grow back.

Must have been about 6 years ago.
A friend of mine tried to dye my hair and I didn't like it at all. I always was thinking about shaving my head. So I decided to shave it all odd. First on 3 mm ... then with Mach3 the rest. had the bald look for about 6 month then let it grow again.
Now I am bald again. :)

My first time was almost ten years ago, I was at a truckstop and was tired of trying to style my hair when I woke up at a rest area or on the shoulder of the highway. I wasn't always at a truckstop si I could shower and shave everyday, and since I didn't like to wear hats I just decided to take it all off! I had a full head of thick dark brown hair about shoulder length, I wasn't loseing my my hair, and I can still grow it all back. But I love the way it looks being bald. Although my wife wasn't overly enthusiastic about my new look, after not seeing me for about two weeks. ;D
Oh and I almost forgot, I didn't have any clippers to shave it down first, I only had my Gillette Sensor at the time. It took a long time to shave my whole head and a full pack of new blades.

I bet that hurt dude..... I know when I let it go 2 days it hurts like hell. I bet you are the kind of guy that gets a vasectomy and jobs home after the operation.
My frist time I got my girlfriend to do it for me, took a clost to 30 minutes to do it, we used 2 disposables and a Mach 3 (the power one). She also cut a bump I had on my head..... I no longer have said bump i don't know what it was but it's gone..
After I slicked it, I remember everything being colder.... the pillow felt smooth on the noggin however slightly cold. I actualy wore bandanas just cause i found it slightly chilli (it was in march, and Nova Scotia would have similar weather patrons as Maine so that might be why)

While I always had a buzz type cut from being in the service, got my first true shave just three months ago. Can't believe I didn't do it sooner.

The first time i shaved my head i was 19 i was joining the army reserves with 2 other friends, we all were going to shave our head....I went first and then they chickened out..lol when we got into the reserves tho they were todl to cut their hair shorter lol

I can't remember the first time I actually went slick. Must have been sometime around 1996. I bought my first clippers in 1994 and clipped with no guard once a week. I do remember everyone I worked with thought it looked great. I wish someone would have suggested that I shave it then, the thought never crossed my mind.

:D I shaved it all off on 4th Novrmber 2006, after researching the issue and discovering SBG on the net. The barber cropped it down with a No. 1 guard, which made me look like a No. IV or V on the Norwood Male Pattern Baldness Chart--not acceptable. So, armed with your advice, I picked up the Mach III Turbo and shaved myself clean. Have since moved to the Fusion and have no intention of growing it back (virtually no nicks). Despite Chadin SO's defection, I am happily sly and intend to stay that way. Apart from from my personal odessey, I am convinced that the bald look is here to stay, especially among hip young men. Cameron is a walking advertisement for the look and for his lady's appreciation of it. Good time to be alive and bald. Professor Melon

i did it way back in 97. i was alone(not drunk). I clippered it. then i used a shick protector. I am glad they don't make them any more.

I shaved it all off July 3, 2006. I was on vacation that week, so I figured I had a week to get it to look right and get a tan. Took all summer to get it tanned. I had been going bald since I was 20 years old (33 years ago). My barber had been cutting it shorter for a few years. I decided to quit giving money to him and shave it. I took a trimmer to the head, then used a Mach 3 Turbo to finish it off.
I was surprised when nobody from work ever commented on it and no one from my family (except wife and daughter) said anything about it. My wife and daughter wanted me to grow my hair back, but that was only because they were so used to me with hair.

It was 2002/2003, Senior Year in Highschool. I remember that day I went to school, after the previous day getting my Hair cut by my Mom (I wanted to go to the Barber, but she insisted). Everyone made it a point to tell me that my head looked like it got Skull ^%$#ed by a weed eater. The sides were uneven, and it just looked in general, bad. I called up my mother to explain my unhappiness. I then, when I got home, proceeded to take the Trimmers and cut it short enough that I could take a Razor to it... I then took the Mach 3 to the rest of it.
I kept it that way for about two weeks, when My mother insisted that I not be allowed to get my Driver's License untill the hair grew back long enough that she could cut it. At school, the appeal was mixed. I remember that some thought that it looked chill, while some just thought that I looked like a giant ____(Falic symbol). That was then, now, I did it because I lost a bet, but I keepdoing it because this time, there is nothing to say that I have to take it back to where it was. I stand out for all the right reasons... Looking clean, and looking smooth. I am one of the few that can pull off the look, one of the proud. I do not have to worry about "How My Hair is", and I am just more comfortable this way. That translates to how I come off to the rest of the world, and let me say that the ladies like it as well! >:D Good Times, Great Oldies. I am not going back. This Time, Mom is just going to have to get use to the New Look untill it becomes the "same old" me. 8)

Have to tell you Clean that your comments strike home. No matter what your age, parents can react strongly to going sly. Finally had to remind mine that I was born bald and they thought I was awesome, now they should feel the same when I choose to be BBC. They do come around in time, or at least give it up. I like it, my girlfriend likes it, I'm still the same guy, just a lot more comfortable being ME

I got my first Mach 3 in 2001, and soon after got curious about how it'd work on the head. So I got bored one day after school and buzzed down and finished the rest off with the razor and lather, etc.
I had some red marks all over but they went away after a couple days. No nicks.
All my buddies in high school called me Buddha after that. No joke.

My first time was about 7 years ago. I already had the retreating hairline and my wife had been cutting my hair with the clippers for a while. Well, she decided to chop her hair off from about the middle of her back to above the shoulder and I thought, "Damn, that looks like crap!" but I was told it was her hair and she could do with it what she pleased! Great! Fine! Applying simple logic to this, one would think if one partner could drastically change something about themselves without consulting their partner then the reverse should be true.
Aparently I was wrong...
I was up in Detroit visiting my family and decided it was only fair. She was the only one that hated it, everyone else thought it looked great. When I got home, she wouldn't speak to me for a week...

My actual first-time was in 1990 when I was deployed to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. We were in the middle of the desert and didn't go into any town much so we all just kept it down with a set of clippers and no guards. A couple of times, I actually took a blade to it and it was nice, but it wa uncomfortable when wearing my Kevlar helmet. I have always kept it short since I got out of the army in 1996. Just last week, I finally took the blade to it again and looks like I'll be staying sly for quite some time.
And the wife LOVES it...and I mean REALLY loves it...... ;)

My first time was an accident. I was so hyped about being like Isaac Hayes, that I took a single bladed razor and shaved the top of my head (just a patch) and it started bleeding all over the place. My family was outside in the front, so I tried whispering for my mother to come inside. But, luck dictated that she would yell at me to come to her, and when she saw my head I got my butt tore up. :Xo! Then she hugged me. Needless to say, my siblings and friends had the laugh of a life time. By the way, I was 9yrs old then.

Nice, I think that that is the collective reaction... Mom's always seam to reem the living daylights out of you and let your sibs sit and watch. I think its just them trying to make a example of us, because they know that if one has done it, the look could multiply as everyone wants to be Sly O:O

31 hours ago to be exact. Took the fusion to it in the shower and haven't looked back since >:D.
It wasen't too bad really other than one small cut, but it wasen't bleeding profusely or anything. After I finished I discovered quite a bit of eczema on the back of my head, but I'm using Nizoral and it's clearing it up quite nicely.
The only problem is that I can't stop rubbing my head now, but better my head than... nevermind ;D

Actually, my mom's reaction was positive. She told me I looked "educated" and "hipster." My little sister wouldn't even stop playing her Wii game to bother with a reaction. :)

Long hair was very populair at that time butt i like the Telly Savalas look and ask my barber to shave it well he smiles and likes to do it.

My first time shaving completely clean was in May of 05. Just shaved it and got a sun burn and let it grow back. The first time with 0 guard on clippers was in 1982. I had been playing in a punk rock band and needed to recover from a mohawk hair cut so I could join a country band. They liked my playing but not my haircut. Go figure!
