The gold, platinum and silver are made the same but with different names.  Way over priced and don't do a very good job.  I also have the Braun S3 electric and does a way better job at about 1/3rd the price.  Just saying.

I have the pit bull gold . I like mine for speed and ease of use. For closeness my Braun series 5 is better but takes at least twice as long. If you want as close as a razor blade you will be disappointed. With the PBG I shave my head in about 90 seconds.

Today I did a razor shave because I've used my electric all winter.  I doubt if anyone would notice the difference but I really didn't get a good shave today.  As for the "pitbull" series, you might like it and many love it.  It just ain't my cup of tea.  I used to love razor shaves but seriously, today, I wonder why I bothered.  Maybe I should just stick with the electrics.

That's something I can never figure out. One day I can get an absolute baby butt smooth shave, and the next time it won't be totally smooth. Same soap, same razor, same routine. You just never know. The times it's BBS though, nothing feels like it! I guess that's what you call good "no hair" day. ;)

Hahaha…..today was a ‘bad shave day’ for me too. Not all that smooth. I need to change the blade. I think a bad shave is also from shaving  later in the day on the day prior. You just don’t have enough stubble sometimes for a smooth shave. Applying some aloe on the dome smooths it all out though. And you get a nice shiny buff finish.

That is right, two day stubble results in a closer shave and one day stubble.

Very true about skipping a couple days of shaving. In some ways it’s a treat —- smoothest shave and it’s refreshing. But I would rather maintain my routine and have a slightly less than perfect shave than have a day or two of that sandpaper feel.

I have a silver and it works well for what it is.

This is so true. Day 3 is the sweet spot for me. Any longer and the sandpaper feel can drive me nuts. Might as well go 10-15  days after that!
