I have a great pair of Wiley X sunglasses. They are pretty popular in the motorcycle world. I didn't particularly like spending almost $100 for sunglasses but it was a great investment.

Needing Rx glasses, I get mine at www.zennioptical. Some are just tinted lenses, while others have magnetic clip on's like the Sly Bear.

They have lots of frame styles to choose from. And if you don't need an Rx, you can still order, just enter 0 (zero) for the R factors.

I think we all would agree that you get what you pay for.  But there is something about good , glass's, when you are out and about no matter what time of

the year.  Seems like the cheap ones don't have the clarity that the Rx, or more expensive brands do.  I just have to make sure I keep them in my hands or

on my head so they don't disappear , which they have have a tendency to grow legs real fast.   O:O

I have a pair of Oakleys wraparounds (http://www.oakley.com/products/6100/23774 (http://www.oakley.com/products/6100/23774)... they cost something stupid but have more than paid themselves off in over six years of service and don't look like they're going to retire any time soon. Great protection and clarity, very sturdy. Sunglasses are really one of those things not worth cutting corners on.

After trying several failed styles I swallowed my pride and went to an eyewear boutique...  Not like Sunglass Hut but a really  upscale place in the fashion district.  I'm not at all metro but I figured the premium price would be worth it to get a hot babe to tell me what looked perfect on me.

Ended up with the Mosley Tribes "Colden" aviators in my avatar (~$200).  The attendent explained how with bald guys, the big tear-drop frames offset the size of the forehead and compliment the curve of the skull.  Who knew.  Might explain why many rappers wear the larger frame shades since most of them have shaved heads.

Anyway if you go that route, dress as you would for a date so they'll pick a style of frame that matches your style of dress.

Getting to that time of year where sunglasses are needed, so I thought I'd update my avatar photo.
The glasses you see are worn over my prescription glasses, they are Solar Shields advanced UV protection and did not cost much.

I don't know the brand of mine, but they are a pretty nice set of Aviators. I like gold frames with brown/red polarized  lenses. At some point I'll probably get myself a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Love my Wayfarer knock offs.  Would love a pair of the authentic thing, but can't justify the price given how often I sit on them, leave them behind, etc.  I have a stack of cheapo-s waiting - when I lose one pair there is another right behind it.  But yeah, the clarity is not as good as a decent pair of sunglasses!

The sunglasses in my proflie pic are Morgenthal Frederics, a boutique brand out of NYC, that set me back about $500!  Yes, I know that is an insane amount of money to pay for sunglasses.  However, I had been looking long and hard for a pair of aviators that look good on me for quite a while, and these were the first pair that did, so I went for it.  Plus the girl that I am dating absolutely loved them on me, and as we know, we do a lot of things to please the women in our lives.

I also have some Gucci sunglasses that I've had forever as well as some Persol frames (the ones Daniel Craig wore as James Bond in his first movie).  For sport and casual, I tend to favor Spy Optic sunglasses and have my eye on their Cooper frames.

I'm a biker and I wear contacts so when I ride, I need good glasses with the rubber or foam around them to block out any wind so my eyes don't dry out.  The Wiley X that a couple of people mentioned previously are great riding glasses and I've worn those.  Currently I ride wearing a pair of Maxx riding glasses that are some pretty decent shades and only run about $20.00.

I don't want to sound like a label whore, but in this case, there is something to be said about spending a little bit on quality sunglasses.  The clarity does make a difference and my eyes tend to be a little sensitive so it keeps me from getting headaches.  But again for riding my $20.00 Maxx frames work well, they just don't look as good by themselves when I don't have my bandana or riding gear on.  Go figure.
