I've never shaved my head

I have this idea of shaving my head just because. I have longish hair but I just want to try something new. Should I just shave my head bald and find out what it's all about. I have no fears of shaving my own head, I just want someone to help me take the plunge.

this is a bald guys community, so all will say "yes, go for it", because we know the feeling.
I'd say: try out a buzz haircut, and if you like it, go ahead and shave it :)

On this Forum, if you ask the question, we're all going to say try it. As Paul says, buzz it close and then see if you like it. If you do, shave smooth. If you don't like it, your hair will grow back pretty quickly. However, once you experience the look and feel of a smooth dpome, chances are you'll be hooked.

I would recommend using clippers and go down a notch each time.

Once you get to a 1 or 0 you can use the clippers to shave it without the guard. It'll then be really short and you can either shave with a regular razor or an electric and smile at the mirror.

If you don't have a set of clippers you can have a barber clip it on down. In some states they can even straight razor it for you but not everywhere. That is where you may need to go home and finish it up yourself.

I have a full head, not MPB, and started to have the same desire... got envious of bald guys in the street. I finally did it after years of hesitation and loved it and regretted not having done that earlier. I love the feel of a complete smooth head. It's a wonderful sensation.
Don't mind what other people will say. in fact almost nobody cares. I had 95% percent of good reactions when I started shaving my head, especially women.

Hair grows back faster than you think, so if you don't like the look simply let it grow back. In one month or so none will realize you shaved. Bust most headshavers keep shaving. It's addicting.

Try the smooth shave! It's the best one. But you can do it on stages if you want.

Im just going to do it guys. Im just going to buzz it straight down to zero then go from there. Here's my before picture, I'll post the after when Im finished. Thanks for helping my do this ; )

You look GREAT  - -but I'm partial to BALD GUYS  - -I think BALD GUYS are better looking than guys with hair
