Do you even think about it?
« on: March 27, 2021, 06:13:23 PM »
I posted here for the first time about two weeks after I first shaved my head.  I still was trying to keep my scalp from turning to red blotches every time I used the razor.

Eight years have passed, and I now shave each morning and often each evening. I caught myself this morning in the shower going over the dome with my Fusion, and not being really aware of the motions. It has become rather rote to me now.

I guess that is not such a bad thing. I just remember making such a to do over it when I started.

Not at all.
Those stopped within the first month once my skin toughened up and became accustomed to the blade.

I guess I'm lucky.  I never got the red blotches but I do have a neck problem and not sure what to do about that.  I'm not sure if it's irritation or what.  My dermatologist doesn't think anything about it.  My neck seems to be super sensitive so maybe it's one of those things I have to be careful with.

No, I shave my head basically on autopilot. I shave against the grain, but I’ve been shaved bald so long now I know which portions of my head have hairs that grow in weird directions and I just go ahead and shave them that way.

Not really.  The prep takes some time but the actual shaving part is pretty much automatic.

Sometimes it takes me 5 minutes, sometimes 15.

And still get red blotches shaving going on 7 years.
If only I could figure out how to get rid of the hair that still comes back...

Much the same for, me.  Autopilot is the way to describe it.

I still have a couple of areas (bony area behind my ears) that just will not not get smooth.  So mostly I just live with it and move on.

I’ve kept my head shaved clean for almost a year now.  Before that, I had kept it shaved over the spring and summer for three or four years.  At this point, I can’t imagine having hair again.  My shaving routine is second nature and I don’t give it much thought other than running my hand over my head to make sure I didn’t leave any rough spots after I finish up.
