I've been using Head Slick for quite a while but this morning I ran out!! So I tried something I had heard of but never tried...using regular hair conditioner. Borrowed my wife's and it was amazing. I  even think it might work better than the Head Slick!!I've been bored with the shaving lately so I started to try other things. IF this works as well as I hope does, I may be saving over HB products!! I think the next thing to try will be the oil under the conditioner.

Head Slick is awesome, I love that cool feeling due to the fact that it's mentholated. I've also noticed, or maybe it's just me, that ever since I started using Head Slick it's taking a little longer for the stubble to grow back, which is a good thing.

I use head slick & shaving oil.

I put 3 - 4 drops of shave secret oil in a bowl & then add a little head slick.  Mix together with a shaving brush (el cheapo from wallyworld) and lather my dome.

Although I'm rather new to world of sly, It doesn't appear that I could get a closer shave.

cream > gel

gel comes off too easy if u shave your head in the shower.

i use "art of shaving" cream. best cream ive used yet. no alcohol nor fragrance. i highly recommend this cream. make sure you get yourself a GOOD shaving brush also.

right now its..
-the art of shaving cream
-gillette fusion
-wich hazel
-lubiderm

best results ive had so far.

I  prefer a cream and a brush for application. I also use a layer of Baby Oil underneath. The cream I use is Palmolive but I live in Sweden now and wasn't sly in the States so I don't know what's available over there.

I use any old shaving gel, but first rub my head with some shaving oil, King of Shaves is good then apply the gel on top. seems to keep the shaving  rash at bay

Not gonna lie guys, I'm definitely a huge fan of the uber lather I've been using as of lately, Which for those of you who didn't see my review on it in the product review, its basically quality shave soap (van der hagen deluxe is my choice) and quality cream (not the canned compressed goo.....I use C.O. Bigelow Premeium Cream) and Glycerin. Add some hot water and wip this up with a brush and really rub it on good with with the brush exfoliating and lifting those hairs and then even it out with a painting motion.

Its a super rich lather that is the combo of the thicker soap and the more airy cream but with the extra moisturizing from the glycerin.
Its good to be bald my friends :)

I am still doing mostly straight oil.
No cream, no gels, no lather etc.

Haven't had a nick since doing it this way...
But I am still a neophyte.

Honestly, I've tried creams and gels and for me the best so far is HeadSlick. I haven't found another retail product that keeps me from getting cut.

I currently use baldguyz shave gel. Only takes a little bit for me and the shadow stays away most of the day. I am also a huge fan of the KOS line. Love the oil and gel. And I have headslick. I have good luck when I use the kos oil with the headslick....

I usually use the Body Shop maca root cream or Headslick but moneys been tight so I picked up some edge infused/comfort gel and hydrate gel, its by far the best can of shaving cream/foam Ive ever used ( Im not at all a fan of shaving gels/creams in cans ). Im aiming towards the Hydrate because the comfort is causing some breakouts.

Quality Shaving Soap

OK, I've read somethings here and there about this but in trying the uber lather I am extremely impressed. One question though. I'm doing it with some very  inexpensive soap from Rite Aid, Wilsons or something like that.

The question is..... What do you soap shavers use for a good top o' the line shaving soap??

TIA
