Excluded from an activity at work because I'm Sly
« on: September 02, 2014, 11:20:04 PM »
Well, its not as bad as it sounds...  ...they were doing a head shaving event for a cancer support group.  The call for volunteers went out a week before the event.  I asked about the short notice, because with about three weeks, I could have grown enough hair to participate.  They said that they have done these events before, and a week is about the right amount of time.  If you give people too long to think about it, some tend to back out.  The event was fun to watch anyway...

I can imagine you being asked to serve as a "consultant" for the volunteers.

I thought I would be a "recruiter", but three days after the call for volunteers went out, they had more volunteers than they had expected.   I did give my "hair is greatly over-rated" speech to a few people though.
