finished the back; started a new one
« on: June 29, 2017, 08:39:27 PM »
Well, I finished The right half sleeve and the full back piece.  The right half sleeve commemorates my career as a Naval Officer.  You can't see it all but it has ribbons on the edges which name a number of the countries/theaters of operation I served in.

We just finished my full back piece.  The theme of the piece is "Fair Winds and Following Seas" in reference to an old Naval blessing one gives to a departing shipmate.

The airplane at the top I built and fly; her name is "Fairwinds".

The Boat on the lower right  is my boat; her name is "Following Seas".

The Tall Ship on the lower left is a ship that I crewed on; the "HMS Rose" which was used to film the Russel Crowe film; "Master and Commander",

The Sak Yant tattoo in the lower center was given to me by some of my fellow in Northern Thailand when I gave up my Robes and left the monastery.

I just started my left sleeve but the site won't let me post more than 4 images.

The artwork looks great!  You sat a very long time for the tattoo on your back.  Whew!
