After thinking about getting inked for over the past year, I'm finally going to take the plunge. I have a thirteen-inch scar from an abdominoplasty procedure I had performed in 1999. It has faded somewhat, but is still quite apparent. I feel this is the perfect place to get my first tattoo. I've always liked the celestial theme, so that's what I'm going with for my inking. I've done a great deal of research, consulted with numerous artists, visited numerous shops, made a ton of calls, and chatted with tatted up friends. My session is scheduled for June 9th. I'll provide before and after pictures later this month. Wish me luck!

That sounds like potentially a really large tattoo. One sitting is planned?

I just completed a tattoo of my entire back last Wednesday and on Tuesday will be starting a half sleeve of my left arm.

Yes, I got the outline done on June 9th. I'm going back this Friday (June 30th) to get color added and then it should be complete. I'll post pictures once the redness subsides. Also, I'm thinking about another piercing, so I may get that done on Friday as well.

I'm thinking about getting helix piercings in both ears. I'm getting color added to my tattoo tomorrow, so if I get the piercings it will be then. I'm leaning toward it, but haven't committed myself to it one hundred percent.

For some reason I thought you've been inked for years Lew; that's cool though. I've been debating getting a tattoo for a long time. If I decide to get one, it will be a tiny cross on the side of my stomach.

I love the look of a Helix. Sometimes I think that it looks better if on only one ear.
I would really like to go in with you and get mine done again, but since I wear hearing aids now I cannot have the Helix.

I finished up with my tattoo yesterday, eight hours total, and got helix piercings as well. I'm very pleased with the results!

This was my first tattoo and last one for now. I think with the tat and helix piercings I'm set for a while. I don't have any immediate plans to do anything else...for now.
