I was wondering how long it takes everyone to shave their heads. I am generally a sink shaver, though I have shaved whilst in the rain locker a few times. I am currently at roughly 10 mins (from lathering up to applying astringent) for my routine. Is this the average or is it longer that everyone else's routine?
-
I'm a shower shaver and do it last thing to give the heat time to work. Takes a bout 5 mins to shave.
-
That's about it, at the sink like you. I've done it in the "rain locker"--great term, I'm going to use it O0--but I never get quite the smooth long lasting shave I want and the brush doesn't work as well. I also have enough lather in the brush to do a second pass to really get to the wood, smooth for at least 10 to 12 hours.
It's my "zen" time, all other considerations out of my mind except doing a great shave. Then rinsing, astringent, shave balm, & of course sunscreen, give me the chance to check my work, it's like rubbing a globe of smooth, soft surfaced marble. Then, breakfast. Nice way to start the day! O:O

7 minutes.
-
Well under 5 minutes. I shave in the shower. Head blade user.
-
In the shower.... 5 minutes to shave first with and then against the grain.
-
8.2 minutes........ :*))
-
About the same as most. 7-10 minutes.
-
At the sink here. Around 5 minutes for both face and head.
-
About 10mins approx using head blade, after a hot shower & then done at the sink
-
I'm about 6-8 minutes on the head.... 2-3 on face. Looks like some other HeadBladers have me beat on speed. I better practice my technique in case I get challenged to a timed shaveoff ;)

Hi Eric -- I'll race you -- winner gets an S4 :-)

Been headshaving for nearly 11 months now, and it still takes me about 40-45 minutes with the HeadBlade. Then again, I tend to be really fussy about smoothness and will revisit area at least a couple of times.
Using my Norelco electric faceshaver, it takes nearly an hour (and does a sh*tty job, with lots of rug-burns in back).
With the CleanHead, it takes no more than 30 minutes (and less with practice)
-
In the shower I can do it in 5mins. More often I'm at the sink though, I'd say 10mins, 20mins in total including face shaving
-
With a safety razor at the sink shaving against the grain takes around 10 minutes
-
15 minutes at the sink for head and face including preparation (fill sink with water, wash head and face with facial scrub), using HeadBlade + disposable double blade razor.
-
I'm a new jack but it takes me around 15 mins in the shower , probably about 12 at the sink but it still works better for me in the shower since I don't have to wash the sink lol
-
Takes me around 15-20 minutes, but then of course I'm a slacker!
-
I saw this post before showering this morning. My shower was 10 mins long and half of that was to shave my head. So, 5 minutes for me. I seem to have cut my time in half since originally asking this question.
-
I couldn't tell ya! I shower then shave at the sink and have never timed it! I put something on TV for the kids if the wife is busy then turn on some music and shower then shave. It's my time and I don't track it or rush it! I'll try to notice a start/stop time tonight! Y'all have me curious!
-
Shaved by feel in the shower today and today was the quickest so far. I happened to look at the time to see if I would have time to shave, was running late this morning, and decided to go for it. Took me 6 minutes, smooth and clean! Shower shaving seems to provide, at least for me, the quickest and smoothest shave.
I was a sink shaver using a mirror up until this week. Decided to try shave by feel and it has been getting faster and faster, and as I had mentioned in previous thread, smoother also. I'm thinking the steam from the shower helps with making the shaving easier.
-
I take as long as I can. I like to enjoy it. That said, I still only take about 15-20min, head & face.
If I'm hurrying (which I hate) I can probably do 10min, including alum & aftershave.

there you go, a man that values a good shave! What perfect me time than shave time, that's a good way to look at it.

Sink shaver here, and it takes me about 10 mins or so.
-
I usually can fit the whole sink shaving routine into five minutes.
-
Normal routine: five minutes in the shower
Last couple weeks I've tried a new routine. I shave the sides with a DE at the sink while I shave my beard. Then I do the top and back in the shower. I noticed I get a smoother, less irritating shave on the temples with this routine.
-
Start to finish tonight was 31 minutes. That's showering, sink shaving, brushing teeth and cleaning the sink. Baby Butt Smooth.....aaaahhhhh
-
Now that I shave three or four times a week (sometimes five after the SD diagnosis) I did mine in 15 minutes today.
-
For me it's about 45 mins, which is head shave and shower, face shave takes a little longer. I like to take my sweet ass time to get the best results. But I love doing it, so doesn't bother me.

Yes, I love shaving at night, I think it's relaxing, it usually takes me 15-25 for shaving, if I rush I usually wind up with nicks and scrapes so I take my time combined with shower and face shave I'm looking at about an hour.
-
I'd say 5-10 min for head + face maybe 15 min at the sink
-
Well I am new but it takes me about 30 minutes from start to finish. Hope can cut that time and half down the road.

I haven't timed myself lately, but I think it's probably about 5 minutes of my shower time.
-
With some practice it will get much faster, but don't try to go fast at first or you will see blood. Now 5 minutes in the shower is about what it takes for me (head only, no face shaving).
-
5-10 depending on how OCD I'm feeling in the morning. :o
-
I'd say it takes around 5-10 mins in the shower for me.
-
Wow I can't wait till I can get the 5 to 10 minutes that most people tend to get. I think I have gone a little faster lately maybe 20 25 minutes.

Give it practice and time....You'll get there!

20 mins on average for me. Cut myself this morning! Tiny cut. Not sure if it was the Braun or not but definitely so when i used the Fusion after it! Ordered a Alum block which should help?
-
Takes me about 10-15 minutes at the sink, ATG.
