Welcome!

It looks decent. A shaved bald head is appropriate almost anywhere and everywhere and it looks clean!

Reactions to being Bald / Re: Mothers
« Last post by jason_greets on July 27, 2026, 12:58:32 PM »
My hair was always sore subject with parents ever since I was a kid. It was always a nagging to get a short haircut. When I started cutting my hair short after college such as a short army regulation cut or 'cop haircut',  it became 'why do you cut your hair so short'.

Mom hated my buzzcuts and especially when I was clipper shaving my head. She never nagged me to grow it out but it was obvious she was not a fan.

But for whatever reason, she likes my head razor shaved. It's like my hair fell out of the equation and never came into questioning. I just interpret it as being that not only did I think my shaved head was my best haircut, but Mom and others did to.

I think guys underestimate the idea, that many of us look better bald.

I know my mother doesn't like me bald and with facial hair, but I don't care.

I want a more mature and bold look since I feel it fits my personality better than clean shaven babyfaced polished hair look she thinks I would look best.

I'm kind of the same. I never really liked my hair as it has always been rather thin and limp. I couldn't really figure out a haircut that I liked that I could easily style. The only exception for me was a flattop haircut.

With being shaved bald, all I really have to do is to shave it and I'm done.

I was the same. I never had a haircut that I really liked but I liked short military cuts. They were easy. So it was always a hight and tight, flattop, crewcut. When my hair was so short, I would still get a haircut. I would walk into a barbershop and the barber would just simply ask '0 all over?' With clipper shaves, I got curious about a shaving my head. Eventually I razor shaved my head, it was the first time I thought this is the right 'haircut' for me. Total freedom.

Bald Stories / Re: Before and After
« Last post by Razorhead on July 27, 2026, 08:38:23 AM »
It was only when I took a photo of the top of my head when I noticed that it was thinner than I thought that I decided to buzz and eventually shave off last month. I plan to let it grow out again when it gets cold and shave it off for most of the year. I plan to keep it going until I have noticeable hair loss.

Seeing a photo of yourself is really the tipping point. It was then when I saw a picture of myself where I could see through the front of my hair and very much bald in the back. Classic bridge across the center that has any real density. When i buzzed my hair, the baldness pattern was obvious. So I just shaved it off. I think it's the unexpected moment when you see yourself reality sets in.

I loved it from the start.  As I have stated on other threads, I never really liked my hair that much and I had made up my mind that I would rather have a shaved head over a partially bald head with a fringe.

Very rarely these days. The last time I did that and I regretted it. Plus I don't like looking at thise clean shaven/bald head selfies compared to the ones with at least a mustache.

Beards / Re: Show us your beard!

It is a nice looking beard - I like to tell guys to make the best of the growth they have.  It looks like you did just that.

Thanks! I wouldn't go as far as refer to mine as a beard, but I like the facial hair/bald head combination look. I don't think I will go for a clean-shaven/bald head look. I look kind of plain.
