family reuinion this summer.
« on: May 20, 2009, 06:25:58 PM »
in a few weeks im having the first family reunion at my moms house since i went sly and im not gonna lie im nervous as hell of what everyones gonna think. i know their only family and they shouldnt care that much, but i cant help it. i have a VERY outspoken and judgemental family. i have this one aunt who i only see like once a year and everytime ive seen her my hairs been long and curly. she used to say i was soooooo cute cuz of it yada yada yada. i also have this cousin in law who almost killed her husband because he shaved his head.

basically all the ladies in my family are gossipers and will let it be known if they dont like something, which im having a feeling they wont like my head since no one in my family is bald. i just dont want to feel uncomfortable or have things be awkward since theres gonna be about 30 people there. last time everyone saw me i had long curly hair. bald is a drastic change.

any recommendations? lol.

Be ready for them... Expect the worst and it probably won't be that bad.....

And even if it seems like it is that bad, just remember that you do this for "YOU" not them.

Why worry ?  It's your head, not theirs.

Stand tall, stand strong. And, without causing a family bust up, be prepared to assert yourself. Think "this is me, I am who I am, if you dont like it - TOUGH". It will be a year before you see em again.

Seriously, your family loves you.  If they give you sh*t, tell them to f**k off.  They'll realize that if you're going to the extreme to tell them to f**k off then they went too far.  You're a grown man now.  Stand up for yourself.  If you can't do it with your family, how are you going to do it in the real world?

I wouldn't take any sh*t off of them. Don't be nasty but be pointed and direct. If you put one in their place, the rest will leave you alone.

ghost1988:  evidently U R not comfortable with yourself wearing the chrome dome because U r STILL WORRIED about what others think of U.  until U R comfortable with your slick noggin' then U will always post something related 2 some "negativity" towards U:  for example, your dad, or that young girl at the restaurant, & now this family reunion.

please... don't take any offense 2 my response.  i'm just giving U that tough sly big brother love.  once U get comfortable with yourself, then U will never ever ever ever ever worry about what others think.  love yourself 1st and the rest will follow.  if they don't then (insert F-bomb) em. :x! :x! :x!

your big sly brother who enjoys being a SBG,

I see an ongoing theme in your posts.  You're pretty worried about what other people think.  I recommend that you take the advice of the guys on this forum.  Don't worry so much about what other people think and just do what makes you feel good.

You have one shot at this life.  If you live it worried about what other people think, you are going to waste a lot of time and energy.

Do you have any friends or family that have given you a nice compliment on your slyness?  If so, focus on that person and think about their comments, whenever you worry about what other people think.  That should help you gain some confidence.

Good luck, bro.  Strut your new look at the reunion and enjoy being different.

you need to let the worryin go where your hair goes everytime you shave your head. down the drain!  some one gives you sh*t, stand tall and tell them off. if you let it bother you it is like the school bully. they keep doing it. and the others are right if you cant stand up to your family, then your not going to stand up to the real world.

you want to see hair on something round, then you can look at the hair on my a** as your kissin it!

I was probably a little harsh with telling you to throw f-bombs at your family, but you do need to be able to stand up to your family.

You can do it bro!  Though, they probably won't care and this whole conversation will be a non-issue.
