While the
HOT Topic lately seems to center around the benefits of using
extra virgin olive oil under a layer of your fav shave cream to greatly decrease razor drag, another product that I found that works wonders (in much the same way) is
sesame seed oil.
Neutrogena is one of the better known brands (sold practically by
EVERY retailer), but there are also many "no-so-famous" brands available that work just as well, too.
This pertains to
lubrication for your scalp, both
during, and
after shaving,
NOT prolonging blade life. For tips relating to prolonging blade life, refer back to the "olive oil postings."
For those guys interested in the
ultimate in lubrication, a "keen sheen" that'll last all day (with
no greasy residue), and an overall
"bone-close super-smooth-to-the-touch" aftermath,
sesame seed oil is a real winner, in my book.
-Cap'n Noodles-How I use Sesame Seed Oil:
Wet head with very HOT water
Scrub head using HeadShed
Apply a few drops of Sesame Seed Oil in palms and rub well into scalp.
Apply favorite shave gel/cream
HeadBlade with - then against the grain, followed by the MachIII (for touch-ups)
Rinse well
While head is still wet, apply Witch Hazel, then a few more drops of s.s.o., and rub well into scalp
Pat head dry
Buff with soft cloth (t-shirt, soft towel, etc) to a brilliant, long-lasting shine
Hmmm....sesame seed oil. Well, I guess if a bald-headed fireman recommends it than a bald-headed policeman has gotta' try it. You mentioned Neutragena in your post. I thought just using a good sesame oil from the store. Is that okay? Will report back with my results!
Thanks again for tip Cap!
There are many "off name brands" that'll work just as well. Neutrogena, being one of the most recognized name brands, is why that particular brand was mentioned in my post. Will be interesting to see your results posted.
