The Summer Heat and My Sly Shaving Routine
« on: April 30, 2009, 12:34:21 PM »
The HEAT is starting to gain momentum here in the south. I've noticed the same standard of care for shaving in the summer heat is going to vary from the winter (what little we had here) months.

Just curious if anyone ever had to alter there routine for summer months and what extra measures (changes) did you incorporate into your routine.

Also, in the usual local retail stores that carry HeadBlade products, I've noticed that replacement blades are getting harder and harder to find. I know they are available@ the HeadBlade website, but finding blades at local outlets was so much more than convenient.

Anyone else noticing the same lack of supply in their area stores?

PS   BTW, I thought I ran across quite a bargain when I came across Gillette SENSOR blades in the dollar stores. Didn't realize until I got home, it was the "single blade" version (Spanish label). OUCH!  Blades did NOT last long at all, not to mention the slicing and dicing of flesh.

"Heavens to Murgatroyd, even... DOUBLE OUCH!!"

Better to stick with the triple blade- Closer, longer-lasting shaves.

Word to the wise: Stick with the triple blades, no matter the brand razor.

First, the HB triple blades--I use Fusion but since I dutifully pass by the shaving supplies in every store I enter--- :D :D :D--I saw them at the Winn-Dixie at Tchoupitoulas and Jefferson Uptown.

I did the New Orleans summer, including staying for Gustav, as a Sly Guy last year.  Strange, the only thing that was different was that I got better shaves after the gym!  The only thing I can think of is that the extra sweating "thins" the skin and there's more hair shaft to cut.  Other than that and using a lot of Banana Boat, and keeping some BaldGuyz Headwipes at the office--no difference.

Hope that helps.
