Suit Coats v Blazers
« on: April 29, 2009, 02:49:11 PM »
Hey bros - had a quick question. Is it wrong to wear a suit coat without the matching pants, just as a blazer? Or is this a big no no?

Dont see why you shouldn't as long as the jacket isn't grey with pink trousers (Timmay)  :*))

I'll wear a suit coat with jeans or a pair of slacks.  If the coat has a pattern, I'll make sure the pants are a solid color and visa versa.

It's called a Sport or Odd Coat or Jacket, when worn this way.  Blazers are black, navy or some bright color like red, smooth fabric and may or may not have brass or nautical buttons.

There is a difference in cut & material of the suit jacket and the blazer.

I only wear my suit jackets with the matching pants but I wear blazers a lot either with Jeans for going out or with dress slacks at work.

There may be a few suit jackets that you could pull it off without matching the bottoms but get a chicks opinion.

I think another question would be up on what type of cut is the suit jacket.   My Balzers are two button but I wear three- button suit jackets so they have a different look all together.

hope that helps.

I have a pretty good report with the manager of my Moores store. Whenever I'm in doubt or have a question I drop in or even call him. He doesn't mind because the customer service they provide keeps me coming back O0

Can never go wrong with a solid blue blazer

You'll never regret that purchase--and you'll get more use out of it than most other coats you have.
