I usually find it more scary performing (in amatuer shows) in front of ten or twenty rather than a few hundred, and I'm sure a few thousand won't be much worse.  Just go for it and enjoy it. 

One day we might be saying 'I knew him when...he slept under a pink polka dot blanket !'
