The rest of the band didn't seem to be bothered by it.

Well, I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the interviewer, Gomeshi, is known as "The Prince of Pompous" and actually did agree beforehand to not mention a single thing about his film career. As an interviewer, if you agree to something with the producers, interviewees and their agents then you should damn well abide by it and not try to sneak around it.
If it was intentional on the part of Thornton then Good for him, otherwise I don't know.

It was only mentioned in passing; I don't understand why it was such a big deal. If Thornton felt that he went on too long about his film career, all he had to do was say, "that's not what I'm here to talk about" and steer the conversation back towards his music. He ended up making himself look really bad.

Pompous or not, I like Gomeshi's show. I listen to his podcast since I can't get the CBC down here.
By the end of the interview, I think it's pretty clear that Billy Bob was just being difficult. I felt sorry for his band mates, they just sat there looking sheepish, not wanting to say anything that would upset Billy Bob. Pretty sad.

Yep, I think if an agreement was made to talk only about the band than Thornton was right in getting pissed.
