BA:
The flattie looks way cool! And yeah, you better stick around. You've represented the SLY movement and helped so many dudes get off the fence (including me) that you have earned a permanent SLY hall pass that never expires!
Like you and GASlick said, it's all about the 'tude and the all-empowering confidence that slick SLY can give a guy. Can I get an "Amen"?

Not a bad look Andre but it must be high maintenance.
That's right, it must take a LONG TIME to keep that plate flat--are you using a barber or some device? And keeping a beard trimmed at the same time. It's got to take you lots of time to get ready. Do you have to use wax or some 50's hair stuff, "A Little Dab Will Do You" to keep it standing up?
It's a wake up to see your posts now, not a bad, but still a shock.

BaldAndre,
I don't think that we've evercorresponded outsid this forum or by way of PM, but I agree with the others. Once a brother always a brother. Everyone has there own reason for going SLY and those who can from time to time choose to re-grow their hair. We always tell those looking for support to do what makes them happy for themselves and not to listen to others, when it comes to shaving their head or not.
Then why should we expect it to be any different when one of our members decides to grow it back? Again do what's makes you feel good Andre, and know that you are always welcome here, and I would be proud to call you my brother, with or without hair.

Shock...well I hope not to much of one...and all my posts are all still 100% pro bald and true...
I'm a bald guy with a haircut is all!
Yea, up keep is about every 5-6 days...the trimmin' day is about 40 minutes, self inflicted with my trust clippers and trimmer..and mach 3! I did a barber 2 times...first one a REAL tight horseshoe flattop..ok, but my looks can't hang too well with that extreme cut...the second EXCELLENT..but he was in Cali
..
so I do it...kinda more up keep...but the in between days much faster
and haven't found butchwax...just doin' heavy duty gel...
for 1/8- 1/4 inch ring of hair!!!
Fun cut though...but boys I will be 100% smooth...it is me more than this cut is...
just somethin' fun.

One of my big regrets is never having tried a flattop while there was still enough hair to work with. It is a radically different look for you, and entirely unexpected so that's where the shock factor comes into play.
My appearance has completely changed over the past 5 or 6 years and it can be difficult to adjust to, even when the change is an improvement. You get used to seeing yourself a certain way and it can be jarring when you look in the mirror and it seems like somebody else is staring back.
This whole conversation has really driven home for me, though, that I really wouldn't want to go back to having hair again. I'm not good with change, and having survived some pretty dramatic ones, it would be really hard for me to change again. I'd also be afraid to have hair again -- afraid that I'd be pressured by my family to keep it, making it that much more difficult to return to the sly look.

Well bro I see where you're coming from...but you know what, I understand..because you've now taken control of your looks...for the good..
the slick bald head, goatey and buffed up look...you worked at it and did good! Long time comin'!
Like you I wanted no regrets with being bald...I never tried this look and have wanted to..I had a flattop (but not this short and extreme) and never with the beard...so I get to 'check" it off and I think it worked out cool! The bald landingstrip is way cool too!
Bootedbear...a compliment is a compliment, no matter what sex...
thanks!

I already tried #2 and #3 on that list of suggestions ... they didn't work out so well.

So, a question on the beard, are you keeping it when you return to the Land of Sly?--from my recent experience it's so expertly developed and trimmed-you must have some extensive experience and tools for that matter. Did you just do it, or did someone help you out on the hows and whys of maintaining such a polished look
?

Not so sure if I'd keep it..kinda like the Mr. Clean look...plus it might be too bottom heavy.
trimming the beard...good eye and same philosophy as a good "faded" haircut...the guards get smaller as you move up the sideburns...
oh big thing...shape the top of YOUR stach area ( a bit)...I've learned giving your nose "some breathing room" gives a cleaner better look!
I'll photoshop ya what I mean on your avy..if you want
!
Thanks too Wpruitt!
