Snow in Georgia (again)
« on: March 02, 2009, 08:34:16 AM »
I know this isn't that big a deal for a lot you Northern residents.  But we got about 6" of heavy wet snow Sunday.

Here's the link to my web gallery if you want to check out my yard. http://picasaweb.google.com/sjlottgriffin

Stopped here in Boston this morning around 10:00 AM.  Looks like we got 10 to 12 inches where I live.

It started as rain overnight Saturday.  Began to change over around 10:30 and by 11 am it was all snow.  It just kept on and on and on.

They actually had to get the snow plows running.  GA only has 3 or 4 I think.  LOL

It snowed as far south as Macon, Tifton and Columbus.  Pretty rare for snow that far south. My kids had a blast.

No, No, No... it's now Climate Change.  None of the global warming activists use that term for obvious reasons.  It is much more descriptive to say climate change because it impacts everyone.  In my town, we experience climate change every day, sometimes even every hour, because the temperature changes every day.  Some days we are overcast, some days sunny.  How about in your neck of the woods... do you experience Climate Change?  By the way, did you know that it would take a 200 square mile wind farm to generate the same amount of electricity as one clean nuclear power plant?  Sorry  #i&@  GaSlick, my kids would be jealous if they knew you had snow.
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

Excellent! My cousin lives in Macon and she said people are losing their minds down there. She's lived in Cleveland and Anchorage so it doesn't really affect her much.

GAslick:
You ought to move to the real south, Southeast Louisiana, we've only had snow once this year, 1", with drifts to 1 1/2" :D :D :D.  That was the first snow since 2004, and before that it was in the 1990's.  No snow, and lovely breezey rainstorms, some call them hurricanes. ;D ;D ;D

Snow in the south is the best snow.  During the snow, the temp hovered around 35 degrees.  Last night it was 30 degrees and currently at 4:20pm it is 43 degrees.  It doesn't last long around here.

It hit about 11:55 here.  We had to follow my 102 year old uncle home from the church to insure he was able to get in the house (no, he was not driving).  It was so heavy on the way back that the person I was riding with became disoriented as to where he was.

We almost got snow here... made it to Guyton, GA but only a little flurry... no stickin here!
Its a good thing though, all the city has around here is rednecks and 4 wheel drives that shovel dirt on the roads.
