What does my future hold?

First off...thanks for the great welcome. Looks like this will be a fun site.
So I'm wondering about my future a little. I'm 35 and have always worn very short buzzed hair. Went sly during college with some teammates but that's been a while ago. I've noticed over the past few years that as the buzz grows out, past my comfort zone of a couple weeks, that the very top of my head (from the hairline back to the crown) as a whole seems to be getting thinner. I don't have a traditional bald spot, though some friends of mine have teased me about seeing it develop, I don't see it. Just see this top area appearing thinner. I just wondered if this was non-traditional hairloss? meaning no actual bald spot/receeding or just me being overly concerned. Genetics, I know, wreck havoc in our family. It's about 50/50 with the guys in my family. No brother shows signs of hairloss; however, I've got some where they don't.
I just wonder if any of you have experienced the same thing and would appreciate some thoughts.

I had some recession at the hairline and the rest just sort of thinned out gradually. I started shaving before a bald spot developed on the crown, but that part of my scalp is completely bald now. I'd say what you're experiencing is normal.

Thanks guys for the compliments. The beard changes from time to time. I've been a little worried to get the beard TOO much bigger if I end up takin' the sly plunge.
And like I said before...not too worried about my hair, just like to know what's going on and what to expect.

Great beard, no grey either.
Baldness doesn't always involve the hole in the head. Google up the Norwood/Hamilton chart and you'll see the various forms and degrees of balding.

Ditto on the beard. I too have the same symtoms of hair lose. Just starting to see a little scalp on the very top. Sly took care of that problem.

Hairloss can be pretty unpredicatable and you never know how it will progress. The earlier it starts generally the more pronounced it will be. But either way that beard rocks and goes great with your shaved head.
