I personally banned the oscars this year. I also wrote the idiots an email...surprisingly with no response  :o
To explain why, I was flipping through the stations on the TV thursday, and ET (Entertainment Tonight) was showing Arnold pressing a button showing they have figured out how to manage a budget in California. Then, they started in on the Oscars.... the millions of dollars spent, the stupid balls, and who was wearing what and the prices spent on the clothes. The whole time I was thinkin.... what the hell?? Is the US not in a recession??
Anyway, I decided to write them an email and remind them about the last recession the US was in and how the Oscars represented the fact that the country was in trouble. They need to get their head out of their asses and understand the value of a US dollar! I told them they should hand out wooden oscars (being green) and everyone should come in jeans and a T-shirt and they should also serve chicken nuggets from McDonalds!!! They should take the millions of dollars they would save and cut a check to every American that has recently lost their job and can't afford to feed their family. These are the people who spent their money last year to watch these movies that made millions!!

Hollywood has no idea what is going on in this country... we should all ban movies to get the point across. But the way its going no one will soon be able to afford to go...... maybe they will wake up but I doubt it!

I watched...I was thrilled Mickey Rourke didn't win, glad Sean Penn did. I wasn't a huge fan of the Heath Ledger winning cause he died thing, but he did do well in the movie...I did see Doubt however and thought Phillip Seymour Hoffman was great in that...

I still have to see Slumdog to see what exactly the fuss is all about

slumdog millionaires an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G movie bro. check it out. the stories touching as hell. i usually dont like that kinda sh*t either but its insanely good. i can honestly say its the best movie ive ever seen.

anyways......i dont think ledger won just cuz he died. its not like he won "best actor" or something huge. he only won one oscar and it was for "best supporting actor" thats not really THAT big of a deal. im happy for his family. his part in that movie was amazing. considering the dark knight didnt even get nominated for "best picture" i can honestly say heath ledger made that movie. therefore he was deserving of the oscar.
