Tomorrow is the day

Hi everyone. I just joined the forum. I'm 34 years old this month and I started losing my hair a few years ago. My crown is pretty thin and the hairline has shifted into reverse. I buzzed my hair short about 2 years ago and have kept getting shorter and shorter. I'm now as close as I can get without a razor. I'm going to pull the trigger tomorrow and slick it.
Here's my issue:
I'm having a hard time with the whole balding thing. Its no so much the look, but the fact that I am the only guy in my large group of friends that is losing my hair (at least noticeably.) There are about 20 guys that I socialize with regularly and none of them are even close to my situation. So, it is kinda tough for me, mentally. I'm just a little shaken by the fact that I'm going to be "the bald guy."
On the plus side, I like the look, the maintenance, and the fact that bald is pretty cool now. When I shaved it tight, a couple of ladies, including my wife, complemented me on the look. So, I know that I won't catch slack from the ladies. It's just the whole finality of the process. I feel like I'm taking the final step towards acceptance. I've wanted to do this for a while and reading some of your posts have helped push me to the edge.
I have lurked on this site for a few days and I must say that you guys have really helped me through the process. You guys are like a support group and I don't even know any of you. That is awesome.

hey brad: welcome 2 the sly fraternity. glad that ya joined us. i promise U that U won't regret it. after U "do the deed"... U must keep the "look" 4 atleast 30 days. the 30 day trial is an "unwritten" rule here at the sly forum. basically... the new head shaver will keep the look for 30 days. after the 30 days... one will B able 2 decide 2 keep it or grow it out. 99.9% keep the chrome dome look & embrace their new found look. keep us posted 2 all the reactions when U "do the deed".

Brad, my brother, I envy you that first shave tomorrow. You are going to love the feel of a freshly shaved dome.
You know your wife is going to like it. Why not invite her to rub in the moisturizer at the end of the shave? She'll love it and so will you.

Brad,
It's pretty obvious that you've already made your mind up, which is great. Don't worry about your friends -- they'll get used to it quickly. Give it 30 days, but I will bet you'll never go back ....

Bro, you are stressing too much what your friends will say. Just be prepared though, because they will say something about it. Just know though, they are will be jealous of the fact that you had the guts to do it. Its not really having the guts to do it, because you will come to terms with it and finally decide to shave it off. Its going to be the best time of your life, those first few days. SO ENJOY IT! You wont get those days aback again. Savor the moment bro.
Good Luck
