How do I insert a picture in a post???

Be sure that the photo that you are trying to post in your message are smaller than about 60K. The moderators don't have a firm number, but my experience is that much larger than 60K and the pictures won't post. they don't throw an error message, you just don't see them. They are ignored.

It's simple. Use an image hosting site like http://picuploaders.com Upload your image and then get the code or link.
use this in your html editor:
<img src="insert your link" alt="">
