1982 Honda Civic Hatchback.  It was a total rust bucket, but ran like a top.  I added fuzzy dice in the mirror and called her Rhonda the Honda.  She purred like a kitty.  A sick one.

1977 Volvo 244.  She was a beauty, but I was a careless youth, and ran that thing to its death.

1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme - that was a cool car.  I got it in 1988, my senior year in high school.  In 1990 it met an untimely death thanks to a 1971 Ford Grand Torino that ran a red light and turned it into a horse shoe.

1964 Chevy Impala, black. Best car I ever had. Always me and girl then. Actually my first 7 cars were all Chevy Impala's. Since then they were a Buick Cutless, Eagle Premiere, Mercury Sable, Ford Taurus, and now Buick LaSable. And the same girl has been next to me in each.

My first car was the farm truck. It was a 1989 dodge. It was a dull grey color with visor lights and it went through gas like crazy, I think I got maybe 8-10 miles to the gallon. I loved that truck, I had a lift put on it to make it look cooler, it looked like a good hunting rig after that. The passenger side door was smashed thanks to a crazy horse show. We were driving kinda fast to get somewhere and the door didnt close all the way and we ended up hitting a concrete pole with it. The passenger side window wouldnt roll down and it didnt close all the way.
 Since it didnt close all the way we had a few close experiences. One time we were going home after the fair and every one was tired. I was driving and had 3 other friends with me and one of them forgot something in the barn and they couldnt get the door open and they slammed on it and I tried to open it from the outside and it wasnt going to open so they ended up going out the drivers side door. We were all sqeezed in and headed home. As we were going around a sharp curve the passenger side door flew open. Luckily every one was buckled in, other wise it could have been pretty nasty. Last winter I was out driving in the woods and my brother was on a sled holding onto a rope that was tied to the trailer hitch and I was going pretty fast and I hit something so I got out to see what it was and I must have hit a rock or a fence post because one of the fuel lines (I know nothing about cars) or something was leaking so I just left it there. When I tried to start it up in the spring it wouldnt start so I sold it to a buddy for $600.

 Now I have a ford explorer.

My first vehicle was a '77 Dodge van it was customized with a bed and fridge in the back, 4 big captains chairs.

Tyler, that is my idea of a cool grandma!!  The first new car I bought all by myself was a 76 Camaro and I wish I still had that one out all the cars and trucks I've had since.

Awesome ... That and the Trans Am (Think Smokey and the Bandit) were the IN CARS when I was in high school

Tyler, that is my idea of a cool grandma!!  The first new car I bought all by myself was a 76 Camaro and I wish I still had that one out all the cars and trucks I've had since.

1965 Buick Special with a something-or-other Wildcat v-8 and a two-speed automatic.  It was in this car that I perfected the Jim Rockford reverse turn-around (I called it the "Y-reverse turn with a very short stem")  Very tough on the tranny, but oh, my, it was fun.  Of course, that was about 30 years ago!   

The technical term for that is a "bootlegger". Very much fun and a great move for getting out of trouble.

My first car was a 1976 Dodge Dart Sport. I wish they had lemon laws back then. That thing was one problem after another and most times they overlapped. I had a chronic windshield leak which would fill the driver's side floorboard any time we had a heavy rain or went through a car wash. I took it back to the dealer 3 or 4 times and they kept telling me it was fixed "this time". The last time I took it in I went straight to the car wash when it was done and Niagra Falls came out from under the dashboard. I called the regional customer service rep and told him the problem and he said take the car back there right now, it will get fixed this time. In the past when I took it in I had to take the bus (no problem, I grew up in Chicago) but this time the service manager took the keys and directed me to a jet black and shiny 76 Dodge Charger.....yes, it had a HEMI! I did a hole shot out of their driveway onto Irving Park Road that the service guy must have loved. I had that car for a week and kicked myself for not buying a Charger in the first place.

when i was 17 i bought a 1971 pontiac ventura II. it was all original, paint and all, with 19,000 miles. still has the dealer's sticker on the deck lid!  it looks just like a nova, except for the hood and grille. a nova front clip will actually bolt right on it! anyway, it has a 250 straight six, 1 bbl rochester carb, and a 2 speed powerglide! i'm 24, still own the car, but it sleeps in my brothers garage! i only take it to car shows and out for summer cruising. once i bought my 95 sonoma i put her in the garage
