I need help selecting a song...
« on: February 07, 2007, 01:07:56 AM »
In keeping with the theme of love, (c'mon guys' Valentines day is just around the corner, now you've all been reminded, none of you have any excuse not to make the day special for your 'better' (in some cases  ;)) halves!!  :P)
I need help finding a really romantic love song, which I want to put on my myspace profile..any suggestions?

MagmaBabe - I have the best song in the world for your Myspace page on Valentines day.  I'm sure you'll agree with me.

The song is....drumroll please  B@%d

The Dan Band - Total Eclipse of the Heart - http://www.myspace.com/thedanband

Listen to at least the 1st minute of the song and I'm sure you'll love it!

I prefer the first one!
Seal has one of those voices that grate on me...even if he is bald and british   ???

Most couples have a "song"
I'd be interested to know what yours and everyone else's is... :)

You can never go wrong with the Righteous Brothers "Unchained Melody"

Our song?  "My Best Friend" by Tim McGraw.

thankyou, at least someone is helpful around here!!  :)
Unchained Melody is a good song, not sure if it's what I'm looking for though.

I'll check out "My Best friend"  :-*

:) If you want to suggest real passion, try the duet between Mario and Floria Tosca in the first act of Puccini's opera of the same name. It soars. There are many good versions; one of the best is with Renata Tebaldi and Mario dell Monaco. The duets in "La Boheme" are also sure to express romantic love. Cioa, Professor Melon

Well I'm a big Frank Zappa fan and I'm sure you are too, right?   ;D
My first choice would be "Baby Take Your Teeth Out" from the album "Them or Us" but you're probably looking for something more along the lines of "The Closer You Are".  It is from the same album but is a serious song.  It is a 6/8 ballad with lovely harmonies in a 1950's style.
If you need to follow up your "valentines day song" with a "day after song", may I suggest "Why does it hurt when I pee" from the Joe's Garage album?

hahaha!! you cheeky bugger!!  :*))
actually, I'm not doing anything on Valentines Day, so if it does hurt when I pee when I wake up, it'll be due to a urinary tract infection and not what you are insinuating!!  :P

With a couple of exceptions, you lot never seem to miss an opportunity! lol
