Hey all.
I been shaving my head with a razor and HeadBlades cream that comes in the yellow bottle. I been shaving sense November. I was looking at youtube last night just because I was bored and wanted to see how other guys shave their head. I see guys just do one clean sweep against the grain on the top the head and they keep going down to he back of the neck.
Why do people do this? Is going to be smooth on top, but the back and the sides will have some growth on it still.
What I do is I shave against the grain on the top, back, and sides. It takes a little longer.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I go with and against the grain. Otherwise I'm not happy with the result. It certainly would cut my time in half if I did half a job. But a job worth doing is worth.......

good point. I know what you mean. I have watched many videos on head shaving and still haven't found one where the person shaves the sides or back of his head against the grain. I usually shave the sides & the back with the grain only, and then for the back I shave sideways as well.
I use a mirror to check how the back of my head differs from the front/top. I find that there isn't much of a difference. Sure if you touch my hair you will notice the top is smooth but back and sides are not, but by looking at me you wouldn't be able to tell. The other thing is most people have a dark shadow at the back anyway so not noticeable really.

I go against the grain right away. I do the sides, then the back, then the top with the HB. Then I feel for rough spots then re-gel and follow up with the Mach 3. That usually does me good.

Im with Dome on this one. Kinda worried now that he has been watching me in the shower as I shave because that is my exact method, other than I use the headbladeSP only. LOL Sorry Dome, just had to rat ya out lol.

I can't imagine anyone not having to go against the grain in order to get really smooth.
Helping with rough patches and things try this as well. Before u shave if u wash, wash/scrub your head letting it foam up with the hot water and just let it sit there for 3 mins. I f u don't u can do the same deal with your shave lube too.
When u start shaving, the stubble should be that little bitter softer to get shot of rough patches that bit easier.

I shave against the grain all the way. Back first, sides and top last.
