I use Avast Free Edition, never had ANY problems with it at all, and haven't had a virus since I started using it. Kaspersky is the number 1 rated Anti-Virus on the market though.

On my PC, I have AVG, Adaware, and MalwareBytes, all of which if freeware.  (I only use my PC for grad school related stuff).  For everything else, I have a Mac, so I don't have any anti-virus software on that.  However, I have heard about there being this free anti-virus software that's out there for Macs, too.

I use Microsoft Windows Live OneCare and it's worked well.  I've gotten a few viruses but's quaranteened or removed them.

Kaspersky  is supposed to be very good.

You could also go with Linux for good virus free computing, no antivirus needed.

AVG is the best I have found so far.  Whats even better is that AVG is free.

This is what I use and most of the people I know use.  I also use ClamWin on one my computers and it has never had an issue.

Interesting update. I downloaded Avast on my laptop which also has Outlook Express last night. No problems. So I don't know what the conflict is with it on my Dell tower. Will look into it more this weekend.

I have been using AVG freee (now V8) for the last coupple of years and no problems.  I would not go back to Norton, which I previously used.  I think it is a big mess!

I agree there. I had nothing but problems when I used Norton... :(

I've got Norton at the moment & not real happy with it. Might try Kaspersky or Nod32 next ... :-\

Go with Nod 32, I use it with Spybot S&D. I've tried and tested over 35 anti-virus/spyware and firewall software, and my picks are based on cost frequent updates and ease of use. Spybot is free and powerful if set up properly, NOD32 is cheap, updates often automatically and is easy to use.
