So, I think it all depends on the individual and maybe a lot to do with the gene pool.
do you know if shaving slows down the balding process or does it not make a difference?
im just wondering if my badly receding hairline could just suddenly stop losing hair and thats all that i lose for the rest of my life, or if i should count on it continuing until im bald.

A lot depends on your age. The earlier you start losing your hair, the more hair you're likely to lose. So a guy who's noticeably thinning or receding in his 20s is probably destined to be completely bald at some point.
