Breast Cancer 3 day walk
« on: February 06, 2007, 07:37:16 PM »
*Warning* Shameless plug for donations ahead.....

In October of this year my wife will be walking 60 miles in 3 Days to raise money for breast cancer research. she did this in 2001, so I know she can do it again, although it will take a lot of personal time to train for the event.

In signing up, she has agreed to raise a minimum of $2,200 in donations. You may make a donation online at www.the3day.org/atlanta07/ssitze.

As many of you know, I  lost my first wife to breast cancer when she was only 34. My children were only 9 & 6 when they lost their mother. This happens to too many families.

I know there are a lot of worthy causes out there, but this is one close to our family, and I bet if you think about it, every one of you know someone who has or has had breast cancer, or has lost a loved one to it.

If you would like more information on the event itself, go to www.the3day.org

NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL!

I'm going to piggyback and endorse Rob's request for donations.  My mother is a breast cancer surviver - her doctor discovered a small lump this past summer; she was fortunate to have her malignancy contained.  She had a mastectomy and never lost a moments steam .... BUT SHE WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES.  Take a moment and dig deep for this worthy cause.  I know I do.

And Rob ... This is a plug for this worthy cause that should have no shame.

Great plug Rob!  I'm sure the guys here will band together to help the cause.

I lost my sister to breast cancer the week before christmas 2005, she was only 34.  :(
She was unfortunate in the fact that it went undiagnosed until she only had 4 weeks to live, despite going backwards and forwards to hospital with different complaints for the previous 18 months.

So please, please, I urge all of you to donate what you can, it's a most worthy cause and every little helps.

Well done Rob and your missus for having the balls to bring this to our attention.
