I had asked the HBG at Bald Guyz if they were planning on any travel size containers and he said in time. The small travel containers from HB work great for carry on btw.

As a flyer with over 3 million miles, here is the deal on container size. The limit is 3 oz. Doesn't matter if you have a 6 oz container and it is 1/4 full. I fht ecapacity is not 3 oz or less it goes in checked baggage only. As for razors, they are ok, but not a strait edge. All liquids, gels, paste, cosmetics, etc. must fit into a quart plastic bag, no more.

BG will be introducing travel sizes in '09!!

hmm,  I will have to visit my parents in 2 weeks time and I will go by train.  It will suck really bad
if I cannot bring my bald guys products.  If it ends up being that I can't bring them then I will not visit
my parents.

Call the train station and ask. I am sure you can work something out to keep smooth.

I had my Headslick, toothpaste, mouthwash and contact lens solution in a clear zip-lock bag.  I had more than 3 oz of everything, but I had it in with the bag I checked.  Nobody examined my bags, so I had no problems.  Security may be more vigilant around the holidays, but I'd take a chance on it.  The worst thing that can happen is that they'll take the stuff away from you.

Yeah I will do that tomorrow.   I love my parents so I want to see them.  It's the first time that I have been away
from them for 4 consecutive months.

If you travel frequently, you will, after a while, accumulate a secondary travel bag that is full of everything travel size.

If you are an infrequent flyer, certain stores (like Bed, Bath, & Beyond) sell little packages that come with the right size zipper bag, and appropriate size containers of all the essentials. Pricey, but takes out the guess work.

I also like to empty out hotel shampoo bottles and refill with my own stuff that doesn't come in travel size, ie proraso, witch hazel, etc. Much better than having to deal with crap that you normally wouldn't use just so it can go in your carry on.

You really have the same security-checks on railway-stations as on airports?

Yes, any form of transportation like that has security checks.

When I went to NYC this summer I was real surprised that there were no security checks on the train from Long Island to Penn Station. You'd think anything coming in or going out of Manhattan would have check points, but nope, nothin'.
