Shaving around ears
« on: November 18, 2008, 05:07:11 PM »
This is probably an old question on the site, but how do most guys shave around their ears?  I have a permanent dent resulting from wearing glasses all of my adult life.  I shave as close as possible with my Mach 3 and use a trimmer to cut down the close in hairs, but always miss some hairs.  An occasional phantom hair will tickle the back of my ear, plus I hope no one notices those unwanted hairs.  A BBC friend says he has his wife tweeze his around the ear hairs.  Any suggestions?

I always had this problem with my Mach 3 as well.  And there's no way I'm getting that close with the HeadBlade.  I started using the Schick Extreme bendable razor and it seems to form to the shape of my skin better especially around those parts of the head.  I pull my ear down and come from the back/bottom right behind the ear and go up and then forward toward my temples.  Usually works best for me.  Good luck

I sort of pull my ear down and back to tighten the skin and clear the area.... then go to town.

I use to have the dent but got contacts which helped that. But I use to go against the grain and pull the skin tight like Mike. It seemed to work good for me. Beauty of skin is it can be stretched!!
Good Luck!

I can't get around my ears on the top and front with the headblade in the shower.  I'll get in front of the mirror with my Fusion and trim up.  But be careful with the fusion.  The single blade on the opposite end can nick your ear.

I've had success using an electric blade.  Its nice knowing that I can push down as hard as I want on it and not have to worry about being cut.

Maneuvering around the ears with a headblade is mighty trickly. That's the reason I ditched mine and currently headshave with a Mach3 disposable.

Pretty much the same way I do it.

I just pull down my ear and shave around it.  Fusion is a good thing.

I also have the pronounced "glasses divots" but haven't had any issues using a Mach 3.
