Hi, I'm new here. I'm 26 and I shave my head with clippers (no guard) because I'm not quite ready to shave it completely. I absolutely have no confidence in myself because I think I look terrible without hair. I wear hats almost everywhere and it gives me false confidence, every time I talk to women I feel like I am fooling them into thinking I have hair underneath my cap. I used to get very good looking girls but between my confidence and lack of hair I can't help but think I have to settle for women I'm not attracted to. I am not superficial, I know looks aren't everything but in the dating process looks play a important part of the initial attraction.
You might be surprised how removing that last 1/8-inch of hair down to the skin can
boost your confidence. In a weird way, it's kind of a reverse Samson effect (one of the SLY bros taught me that when I took the leap)...like a clean slate, in a take-me-as-I-am attitude. The title of your post "This isn't Easy for Me" says it all. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it! Hang out a while and read some of the experiences and obstacles some of us overcame. No rush or pressure to do anything. And welcome to the site.

Hi AntSox,
you're a man, you are you, so take the plunge and shave your head smooth.
You'll like it and you'll feel well with the ladies;
Believe the members of this forum: you won't regret it and it feels really good

I say give it a go. If you already cut it short it'll grow back after a shave in a week or so. In my case only a few people noticed or even cared. Nobody will care more about the hair on your head than you. Shave it and be free or shave it and wear a hat for a week or two. Not much to lose bro.
The way I see it is I have 40-60 years of life left tops (God willing). I don't plan on spending it with a personalty based entirely on the quality of my hair. What I like most about being sly is that I stand out. I want to stand out, don't you? Chicks seem to dig it.
All those other sheeple can mingle amongst themselves.

Yeah, and what Rob6 said. Take-me-as-I-am attitude is a beautiful thing to have to live with. It's contagious and causes envy.

I'm going to assume the date didnt go so well since you didn't share??
Rest assured, if it did not go so well, it's nothing to be embarrassed about.
Bottom line.....Most blind dates don't go so well, and I know from experience, but on the off chance everything was peachy keen.
Let us know.

HA HA Cheese, you just made me spit coke all down my self!!

But seriously man, you will be amazed at the confidence you will gain from shaving, its like your taking a positive step and controlling your hair, not letting it control you!!

Welcome m8. I just shaved mine this week after an age of dithering and a week of confidence building from the great guys in here. Just go for it. If you are already using clippers without a guard, it wont take long for hair to grow to that length again if u decide you dont like it.
Good Luck and keep us informed
