, I need some help here, what do i do? I have a sensitive scalp...
Sorry bro. Are you asking basically for a whole routine or just what razor or gel/cream/oil/foam to use? As far as a razor goes the Schick Extreme has worked best for me as far as being "forgiving." There are some people that use the HeadBlade with the Gillette Sensor blades which they say works really well as far as being sensitive. As far as cream/gel/oil goes it just depends. If you mean dry by saying "sensitive" then maybe a shave oil would be best for you. There are some awesome oils out there. I actually love using an oil but it just leaves my dome feeling too greasy when I'm done. But that's because my dome is sort of oily/dry. One that I got great results with in the past was by King of Shaves. It's called Nexium Shaving Oil. It came in a little blue and clear squirt bottle. Real good stuff. You could just use about 5 squirts and rub it all into your head. Best results were in the shower though. All you had to do was to keep dipping your head under the water before every razor stroke. Really comfortable and smooth shave. Once you were done and dried off your dome would feel like butter. Really moisturized the skin nicely. There are other things out there too. One thing I would definitely suggest is not to exfoliate your head before shaving if you have dry sensitive skin. That will just murder your dome. You don't really need to do that anyway no matter how much people say it. Your basically "exfoliating" your head when you prewash it. All you need to do is scrub your dome gently with a washcloth with whatever "wash" you are using. You know? Instead of using your hands to wash you dome with the soap/wash put it in a washcloth instead and rub it around. That is gently exfoliating your dome right there. Just look in the product section of SBG and check out some suggestions. Good luck.
Oh yeah, one other thing. One thing that has helped my dome is by skipping more days in between shaving. I use to feel the need to shave everyday. Which is cool for some people but some people's scalp might not be able to handle it is well as others. After getting very dry and peeling on top I started to shave every other day. Even then sometimes it would still get irritated. So I started shaving every third day. Worked wonders for the dome. No more irritation and the complexion of my dome is a lot better.
I have a very sensative scalp also. What works for me is to not use too much stuff. I exfoliate with St Ives scrub before and after i shave. I use Bald Guyz shave gel and a Schick Extreme 3 disposable xtra smooth (blue-green handle) and I never use the razor more than twice and only on my head. After I shave in the shower i used to use the Bald Guyz moisture gel which really helps close the pores but I recently went to a Dermatologist and she told me to use Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion for dry, sensative skin. Also I don't shave every day. I usually shave every 2-3 days. Until the last couple of weeks I would have small breakouts 1-3 pimples or so. I haven't had a single pimple in the last 10-14 days.
