Funny thing I chose to read this thread today.
Yesterday afternoon, I received a call from one of my daughter's classmates (a boy). I knew the call was about homework, but The Lovely Mrs. Schro said "she's too young to be taking calls from boys".  :popo

We're going to have our hands full .... Nicole is an extremely talented and intelligent, beautiful ten year old girl with a great personality (all qualities clearly from her mom's side of the family).

Guess it's never too late to learn how to use a shotgun.  #u#T3r

OK...reality....tune in.  Everyone is worried about what their teenage daughters will face with the boys.  We can all agree that we were once "boys" too.  We know what goes thru a teenage boys mind.  There is alot of "change" going on..with both sexes.
The #1 most important thing...keep a close relationship with your daughters ( and sons)  Always keep tabs on them and they will understand and see that you DO care what they are doing and who they hang out with.  My oldest has already had a boy or two over to watch movies.  They know where they can watch them at and where they cant.  We give them their time...but they know we are watching.  She has several boys in the neighborhood which she considers close friends and not dating material.  They know my rules.  They are always welcome in my home anytime even if we arent home...but...they can not be the only two their.  9 times out of 10 my youngest two are there with them and beleive me...they would rat anyone out.  They also know that if they fail me in anyway shape or form, they will never be allowed to come over again ..even if we are at home.
Some say our house is like grand central station.  I am glad I can provide a safe place for them to come and visit and hang out.  I want my kids to be involved with other kids, I had that when I was growing up.
Just let your kids know that you love them and are paying attention to what they are doing and they will respect you for that.

I only hope that my younger two turn out like my 23 year old...... what a great young guy.
