Skin discoloration after sunburn/skin peeling

I never had this issue before, but when we went on vacation I got a bad sunburn. My head started to peel for weeks and now I'm stuck with a 2x3 area of skin discoloration above my forehead. What can I do? If reminds of when you remove a scab from your arm or leg and how the skin looks afterwards.

Ice cube and some aloe vera at least twice a day. Also keep your head covered when outside during the day until it heals.

This was back in April. I haven't used Aloe Vera, but I tried some other creams and this is still how it looks 2 months later.
