That is the typical reaction (or lack thereof) more often than not.  We spend a lot of time worrying about the reactions we'll get to that first shave, and usually the reactions are underwhelming.  It's funny how consistently that seems to be the case.

Thanks, everyone for the warm welcome!

To answer the questions asked of me in the replies (at least as many as I can remember).

1) I am from Kansas City, MO.
2) I have been shaving for about a year, now that I think about it.

My hair is naturally strawberry-blond-ish, so its easy for me to get away with no "shadows" when I shave.

I'm trying to find some before pictures (those that I find especially dorky) so that I can post them for comparison.
